Who has United HC and is getting a pump?

Do you know of anyone who is considered in network besides Byram Healthcare, Edgepark, or Genadyne?

  • Me! Nope just those 3 i know of- I'm going with Edgepark and the Ameda Purley Yours. The nurse that did our breastfeeding class recommended that one to us. The hospital just switched over to Ameda hospital grade ones and she has been testing the purley yours out and loves it.

  • Make sure that you check things ladies, because they are changing some policies on January 1, 2014 to include some other pumps I think.  Let me look for the link real quick, and I will post it.

  • Here's the link - https://www.uhc.com/live/uhc_com/Assets/Documents/RenewalLgGrp_RI_MA.pdf

Basically after Jan 1., they will only cover double electric pumps (which I assume most people are getting anyway).  Still wouldn't hurt to double check especially if you're not receiving it until after Jan. 1.

  • I had googled this and found some people went through Aeroflow and had it covered by UHC.  You can fill out a form on their website to find out about insurance reimbursement.  I personally didn't want to deal with an insurance mess and went through Byram to get the Hygeia Q because I already have a Medela PISA and have read great things about Hygeia and the Medela accessories are compatible with Hygeia.  Didn't want the plain Medela personal double pump.
