Question...help please

I'm really sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm really confused and upset about this and if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

So AF isn't due until Jan. 1 and yesterday i started bleeding. It's been bright red with really stringy dark brown stuff. I'm wondering if I might have miscarried or an egg just didn't take or something like that. This is my first month off of B/C and I'm also wondering if it's just my body getting adjusted to that. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? TIA!

if it's your first month off BC, how do you know your AF is due on 01/01?

Personally to me it sounds like you may be getting AF now. I doubt you m/c'd. Did you have a +hpt?

It could be because you just got off BCP. My first couple cycles were all wacky after getting off the pill.

Your cycles will be all out of whack when you come of bcp. Your AF due date no longer applies.

Sweetie, its most likely your period. It's your first month off BC - your body is going to be Fed up for a while. Read TCOYF.

plus when you are on BC they are not periods, they are withdrawl bleeding - it is due on 01/01 because thats when you would have taken placebo pills which induce the bleeding

when you go off BC you are no longer looking for withdrawl bleeding, you are looking for a period .... which you really have no idea when it will come

If you got off of your BC in the middle of the pack you could start bleeding a few days after (I always did) I found it best to wait til the pack was over and to stay off the pill then. I was never irregular after that..........

Yikes! Way to come in with a bang. I would highly suggest getting, Taking Charge of your Fertility. It will help alot with all of your questions.

Ok thanks. the only reason I thought of a possible m/c is because of how horrible and nasty it is. Sorry for the stupid question. Just needed a little advice.

It really bothers me that people throw the word miscarriage around like confetti cause their body isn't doing what they think it should be doing.

IMO I wasn't "throwing around" the word. I'm seriously concerned and thought this could be a board I could come to for advice. Yes I'm new to this. No I don't know everything. Effin sorry

I dont think that it was very nice of you to say that her questions was stupid no ones question is stupid she is just concerned as is anyone that is trying TTC you cant tell me that you werent the same way that she was at one time. Good luck wit nthe baby anyway

I wasn't necessarily thinking miscarriage but more of a egg that didn't implant. ANYWAYS, I just wanted an outsiders opinion. Not to be ridiculed. Thanks

Before I went on BCP for control of AF symptoms, I would have clots coming out at each cycle with cramping. I was not sexually active at that time. It can happen and this was nothing compared to a miscarriage. I have never miscarried but I know many people including my mother who have. Not to say it was not painful and nasty but it was my cycle from age 13 to 19. I did occasionally get stringy brown clotted blood while on BCP. It happens and can be normal.

Fast forward 13 years, I am now 3.5 months off BCP and I chart. This way you have a better idea of your cycle. Charting can tell you many many things and can be of great assistance if you have irregular cycles. Your first month off BCP you cannot assume your period will come when it would have before. It may come earlier, later or not at all. I have ranged from 25 to 32 day cycle with ovulation occuring on days 11-13. It adjusts. I am lucky as I have not had an issue with my cycle being completely f'ed up.

Read TCOYF and do the tutorials on fertility friend. Knowing your ovulation date would help answer the questions you have.
