Have your baby's eyes changed yet?

Has anyone's LO's eyes changed yet? C had grey-blue eyes when she was born, and they're still that color. DH and me have brown eyes, but my grandfather and both his parents have blue. I know its a slim chance of her keeping them, but i'm just wondering if anyone's has changed yet.

  • yep. S had grayish-brown eyes when she was born. They're definitely brown now. They do vary between light and dark though depending on her mood...

  • G's went from a deep blue to a slightly lighter blue. And the inner ring around his pupil got even lighter. I hope that means they're staying blue.
  • There is a definite good chance she will keep blue.. DD1s changed I dark brown very quick . DD2 has bluish grey eyes . Mine are blue my Hs are brown

This exactly. They went from a sapphire blue to almost baby blue.
  • I just find it really odd she wouldn't have brown. Her eyes are really weird,- some days their greyish hazel, and other days grey-blue.

Genetics is a tricky thing... It's fascinating to study if you're ever bored :)

I actually majored in Biology, and took a some genetics classes. It definitely is very odd! She should only have a 9% chance of having blue eyes. But, they're not just blue, its a combination of other hues. No clue how you would be able to find the percentage of that.

  • B's eyes are sort of hazel.  They haven't changed yet!

My other two boys have blue eyes, even though DH and I are brown-eyed.  They get it from their grandpas on both sides!

  • Ab's haven't changed yet. H and I both have light brown eyes (lots of green and yellow in them) but we have a lot of blue on both sides and a few green. My mom said hers look just like mine did when I was born and mine didn't change til I was 3... We shall see...
  • No change here- Maddy's eyes have been bright blue since she was born. We both have blue eyes, so I suspect she will, too.

  • Not really! Her eyes are a darkish blue and they haven't changed. She has red hair so I expect they will stay light but I thought they would change by now
  • When he was born they were the typical baby grayish blue. Now they are a nice deep blue. They will probably stay blue. My eyes are blue and H has brown. My daughter has beautiful ice blue eyes.

  • No surprises here. Both DH and I have brown eyes. DS's eyes were never blue. They started off a grayish brown and now are a dark brown. All the grandparents have brown eyes too except for one who has hazel.

Both my parents have DARK brown eyes. My eyes range anywhere from bright blue to green depending on what I am wearing. My mom is one of seven who all have varying shades of brown eyes, and they all happened to marry people with brown eyes. ALL the grandkids (there are 9 of us) have blue eyes except one. Genetics are funny things. My aunt also had blue eyes until about 2 and then her's changed to brown.

Yes, hers were gray when she was born and are dark brown now.

    This.
  • My LO's eyes are a slate blue color with some light green in them. DH has dark green-blue hazel eyes and I have brown-green hazel.

It'll be interesting to see what she ends up with. I've heard that they usually turn the color they are going to be by 9 months but I'm not sure if that is true or not.
  • His started out dark blue, and have lightened up to a blue/grey with a darker ring around them (like my eyes)

I have blue eyes, and DH has brown (but DH's sister has blue so he carries a blue gene).

    I hope they stay blue.

  • LO's eyes have definitely changed but I am not sure they are their permanent color yet...if they are they are pretty indescribable because they are a mix of hazel...blue and brown.  It would be cool if they stayed that way since they are very unique.

Charlotte's were gray blue when she was born and they have stayed that color (maybe a bit more blue). Our pediatrician looked at them under magnification and said he didn't see any other pigments coming in so he believed they would stay blue. I wonder how accurate that can really be though. I have blue-ish green and DH has green. Edit- cause auto correct said I had "bluefish" eyes ;)

  • R's started off dark blue and have started to lighten inward. The edges are still almost navy, then bright blue in the middle and very light grey around the pupil. DH has beautiful bright blue eyes and I have blue grey (change shades from straight grey to darker blue to almost aqua depending on what I'm wearing and light). I hope R has DHs because I never had school pictures where I didn't look either dead or slightly crazy depending if my mom pick the normal grey background or something 90s and neon
