Kate and I are both going stir crazy already this winter. There is a shit ton of snow outside and I'm not a winter person. Pre kids I would just stay holed up all winter with several books and DVDs-neither my husband or I are very social. But being holed up with an active toddler is not proving a fun time, for Kate or me. I just enrolled her in a Jitterbug dance class through the Y and I'm thinking about a kid's gym class that my coworker attends with her son. I work very part time from home, so we are basically home 24/7. Please share what activities you and/or your kiddo are doing.
Re: Have you enrolled your LO in any activities yet?
I'm like you though, I cannot stand being at home all day. We go out every day, to either the above activities or shopping, visiting friends, etc.
Wish I could be a fly on the wall at a toddler dance class...I bet it is priceless.
We are going to be visiting New Orleans in May (tagging along with my mom on her conference.) The children's museum is on my list, along with the zoo, aquarium and insectarium. Also Storyland in City Park. I may ask for your opinions on more ideas for Kate the closer it gets.
Thank you for the ideas!I will do that! Thank you so much!
Haha! Is your LO training to be the next "American Ninja Warrior"? My husband is obsessed with that show? I think he just likes to watch people fall!

At 20-week anatomy scan found IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), and very low Amniotic Fluid. Now, I'm High Risk and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor fluid and growth. If baby runs out of room or is too growth restricted, they will deliver ASAP. My current goal is to make it to 28 weeks!
@asales727 - I hear you about daycare being expensive as it is. Then when I check out differant activiteis, like Gymboree, MyGym, etc, I'm surprised at how expensive they are!
@nenecakies - I work FT and agree that it is hard enough to get quality time with DD on the weekends. Espcahlly when we've got all our chores pilled up from the week!
Last winter and spring I did do swim classes at the Y on Saturday mornings. Its was tricky since it was scheduled right before her morning nap. It was a struggle to keep her awaje until we got home! I didn't want her to fall asleep in the car because then I couldn't get her to fall back asleep when we got home! I enjoyed it, and like PPs mentioned, water safetly is really important to me. We don't have a pool, but I want her to feel comfortable in water and learn how to be safe around a pool, etc. We went to an outdoor pool a few times over the summer, but I'm hoping when she's older it can be a more regular thing. I think another session starts in mid January, so I think I want to sign me and her up for that!
I also signed her up for a (free) story time at the library this past fall ... that didn't go so well since it was scheduled AT her naptime. It was during the week, so her sitter took her a few times, but then decided its wasn't worth it. And I was ok with that. It starts back up in January, so we might give it another try.
I'm debating on the KinderMusic. A session starts later in January. It ends right around when she'd be going down for her morning nap. So I think it is something the sitter could take her to. But then I get jealious about spending THAT much money on a class that I don't get to go to with her! b-(
