Beckett-for a girl?

What do you all think of the name Beckett for a girl? I know it is traditionally a boys name. Watching Castle got dh and I hooked on it for a girl, even though I realize it's her last name in the show. Is it too far of a stretch for a girl? Thanks for your input

Yes, I think it's too far a stretch. I'd be really surprised if I were to meet a Beckett and he would turn out to be a she.

It does remind me of The Family Stone when the mom is taking about one of the guys ex-girlfriends named Beckett Royce.

With that said, I do NOT like it on a girl...at all

One of the reasons I don't particularly like Beckett on a boy is that it sounds feminine to me: like the combination of Rebecca and one of the Lynette/Paulette/Claudette old-fashioned names.

I would not side-eye it on a girl at all, and I think it sounds cute and perky, but not perpetually childish.

Love Caste, but no, it works on the show bc it's her LN and she's in a profession where being called by your LN is the norm, her FN is Kate, much more appropriate, her real name is very cool, Stana.

Yes, it sounds cute and unique, but just pretend for a minute that it is your name. For myself, I would not be happy with that name at all!

As far as Beckett, I think it's fine for a girl. I like it, actually. Beck, Becca, Becky, Kit - all that for nn. I could see someone aging quite nicely with this name.

We had this on our list for DS because DH suggested it and I didn't mind it (I usually don't love random surnames that aren't family names and don't have any particular meaning for us). I don't like it for a girl. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but there are so many beautiful, feminine girl names I'll never be able to use, I sincerely do not understand why anyone rejects all of the lovely existing girl names and sticks random masculine-sounding names on girls.
