Anyone gotten their 2nd trimester boost of energy?

I feel more tired now than in 1st trimester!  i am 15 weeks today and my head is so fuzzy, cannot concentrate.  Baby Brain much?  Anyone else in the same boat?

  • I just took a 4 hr nap today. Does that answer your question? lol. Still waiting for my body to realize it's in the 2nd tri now.

  • I'm not as tired as I was the first trimester, I'm not taking naps half of the day anymore, but my brain definitely feels like it is not functioning! I'm waitress and at work today I kept calling onions "ham" and everyone looked at me like I was crazy!

    Was going to make cookies batter made in fridge. Still time. Lol

  • Yes! I still have a couple periods during the day when I get tired (3pm-ish, which has always been my rough patch of the day), but overall I'm a million times better and more functional. I have faith that all of your energy levels will be back again before too long - or at least my fingers are crossed that they will be!

  • I don't necessarily feel like I have a burst of energy.  Most days I am not fighting to stay awake at my desk like I was in 1st tri.  I would nap in my car in 1st tri and haven't felt the need at all lately.  I still sleep a lot and go to bed at 9!

  • Kinda... I have a load of energy I. The morning but after lunch it's all downhill

  • I think I would have good energy if I slept at night. I have always had some insomnia issues but it is so bad right now. I just toss and turn. This is my third pregnancy and I know it is just going to get worse. Lol
  • My workouts have improved a little bit, I can go longer and faster than I could a month ago. However, I am still exhausted and constantly yawning throughout the day. I am in bed by 7:30-8 pm every night. I can't fall asleep that early, but I'm so tired that I just want to be laying down by then. 
  • @Cherylwang I have horrible insomnia, too. The beginning of the first tri was terrible. It has improved a bit, but still a struggle to fall asleep. I'm scared that it only gets worse! When does that happen?

    The last month is really bad. You are more uncomfortable. It's hard to get comfortable and stay comfortable. Then of course once the baby moves regularly you feel it most when you settle down to sleep. It's a awesome feeling but does keep you up.
  • Well this isn't good news for those of us going in to the second tri! Mine starts Saturday and I was expecting the switch to flip at midnight, lol! Yesterday I got out of bed at 5:00pm. Hubby served me meals and snacks in bed. :)

  • I'm 14 weeks and still getting sick. I feel like if it wasn't for that I would be feeling more energetic, but it is kinda hard to tell, haha

  • I normally take about two naps when I get home from work everyday! I keep waiting for it, but no go lol
  • Mine is back, for the most part. I still get tired but it isn't the narcolepsy-like exhaustion I suffered in first tri. And, I have finally been back at the gym regularly. Last night, I even cleaned out my "skinny" wardrobe (rest in peace until next year, skinny jeans) and washed/hung up all my new maternity clothes. Tonight, I may even have enough energy to tackle Christmas wrapping!

  • Didn't nap on the weekend for the first time last weekend but it's so hard to get out of bed in the am.
  • I wouldn't call it a "boost", but I definitely feel less tired than I did a month ago.
  • I'm calling the energy thing a HOAX. Mine is still not back... Boo!
  • Yes. 16 weeks. I still have time when I want to take naps, but I do want to do the dishes and clean house. Ignoring it last few months is not good. I did hard core cleaning for two days (friday and saturday) this weekend. Sunday I laid in bed all day and took a three hour nap. So it comes and goes
  • Ever since I've hit the 2nd tri, I've actually felt worse. Even started with the 'morning' sickness. Way more tired and just feel like crap overall.
  • Not sure it's a boost but I've been feeling pretty good, ran 3 miles tonight, and I have made dinner the past few nights. I get way tired after lunch, but bounce back around 4 or so...
    I'm hoping for the "bursts" after I go back to work in January.
  • I am 15 weeks, 3 days and finally feeling back to myself. Yahoo!! Hope you all get there soon! Hang in there.

     

  • I thought it had come, tried to do some housework and was knocked down by exhaustion for two days.

  • I don't have a complete "boost" of energy, but I'm certainly feeling better now (16 weeks) than 1st tri. Instead of being utterly exhausted and needing to nap twice a day, I can actually stay awake through the whole day. I still sleep a lot whenever I can, but I don't feel like I'm going to fall asleep every time I stop moving...

  • I feel more tired now. Not throughout the day, but it's harder for me to get up in the morning and the days I can sleep in I've been sleeping til noon with forcing myself out of bed
