crack mints!

So, my church is awesome and people have been taking turns bringing me meals every day. A few days ago a lady brought the most amazing mint candies I've ever had!  She left her email and said if I need anything at all don't hesitate to ask. I NEED this recipe!  I asked for it, and no response...I'm going crazy here. It's stressing me out more than I thought could ever happen.

Does anyone here have a recipe that is like a york, but less sweet and less minty? Please?!

Re: crack mints!

  • Yeah, my church is great! They've brought me meals every day since I've been home. I used to be in charge of the church meal train for my mom's group there but someone else took over once I got my tumor. It's so nice to be on the receiving and giving end of something like that.

  • What was the texture like? I have one that's a paste of powdered sugar, water and extract. But that sounds sweet. https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Peppermint-Patties-15791

Then and now. How did my boy get so big?

  • @Baker_Bride thanks! She finally emailed the recipe. It has cream cheese in it! I didn't expect that. If anyone wants to try these wondrous treats, here's the recipe:

    Creamy Peppermint Patties
    Ingredients:
1 8oz package of cream cheese softened
    1 tsp peppermint extract
9 cups confectioners' sugar (I didn't say they were healthy :)
    3/4 Cup semisweet chocolate chips
    3/4 Cup milk chocolate chips
    3 Tablespoons shortening

    Directions:
In a large bowl beat the cream cheese and extract until smooth.  Gradually add confectioners' sugar, beating well.
Shape into 1 inch balls.  Place on waxed paper lined baking sheets.  Flatten into patties.  Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or until chilled.

In a microwave, melt chips and shortening; stir until smooth.  Cool slightly.  Dip patties in melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off; place on waxed paper until set.  Store in the refrigerator.

    Makes about 4 dozen.
