So my husband has recently informed me that he wants to get a puppy around the same time we are due to have a baby. He wants the baby and puppy to grow up together...! Such a sweet thought!
But changing diapers AND cleaning up after a puppy?! A little much, don'cha think!?!? LOL!
Not to mention, we already HAVE 2 dogs! Happy he's enthusiastic about the whole thing, tho. HAHA!
Picture it, tho.......

Puppies require a TON of time and attention. Babies require even MORE time and attention. I cannot imagine dividing my attention adequately for both of them. Having a pets in your house is great (I have a cat and a dog) but puppies are so needy. And noisy. And messy. And they can be quite expensive if they're a breed that requires several vet visits.
ETA: I also discourage this because people sometimes get overwhelmed with how hard it is to care for a puppy and then it ends up going to a shelter and that makes me sad
Also, I cannot imagine waking up with a newborn every 2 hours while trying to care for and train a puppy. Dogs really need a lot of care and attention, and you might find it difficult to provide that at the outset with a newborn. If he wanted to get an older dog, that might be different, but it sounds like he really wants a puppy.
