PSA: reduced mat21 co insurance!

My medical bills have been piling up. One in particular was the co insurance for the mat21 blood test that they ran at around 10 weeks. I decided to give seq.unom a call to pay the $800 co insurance. I mentioned to the billing dept that this is much higher than I expected, can they offer any help...they reduced it to $200. So proud of myself! Letting you know in case you have a similar bill out there!

Re: PSA: reduced mat21 co insurance!

  • Sometimes your ob can help, too. We did a cystic fibrosis blood test when I did my first trimester screening and insurance charged 800! After insurance coverage we owee over 100. My ob said this was still a lot so she provided documentation that this is a standard test during pregnancy and they reduced the cost to about $25. Thanks for bringing this up! It certainly helps.
