DS is 13 months old and I am looking for ideas on how to introduce peanut butter to him. We have some history of allergies in the family so I am a little wary of giving it to him in case he has an allergic reaction. My nieces (related through DH's side) have nut allergies but DH and I think it could stem from their mom (since she has allergies) who is not related by blood to DS. My side has allergies but not to nuts and those allergies developed later in life.
For those who have gone through this, did you introduce it during hours when the pediatrician was open? I have heard stories of people parking outside the ER before giving peanut butter for the first time which sounds extreme to me
Thanks!
Edited: DH would like to wait until he is older to give him peanut butter so that he can tell us if something is wrong but I would like to give it to him sooner because I have read that it is less likely to result in an allergic reaction.
