Kate loves looking at pictures. I have given her some random ones of herself, family members and our dogs that she carries around all day. She points to them and says, "dog", "Kay" (Kate), "Mama", "Dada". So I bought an small album and printed off pictures of our extended family, me and my husband, Kate and our dogs so she can have her own little photo album to look through. I wanted to share this because I know, at least for me, that I can get caught up in buying so many toys that she probably will only play with for a limited period, and I'm not so good at creative (and inexpensive) gift ideas.
Re: Wanted to share this idea for an inexpensive LO Xmas gift
My mom got this for DS for his birthday: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000Q7G3VM/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1XEX0BDP8MOK2&coliid=I3JQ07B1MMJDYH
She put pictures of my parents, my brother, MIL, SIL, cousin, me & DH and DS. Oh and she put pictures of our cat and my parents cat. He LOVES it. We ask him to point to so and so and he does. And now he's started pointing to the faces and saying "gramma" or "grampa" So cute.
Baby #2!
In a similar vein, DD is also obsessed with flashcards. Last Christmas someone gave us sign language flashcards, and on one side they have a picture and a word, and on the other side they have the sign. She carries them around everywhere with her. So for this Christmas I got her some flashcards with other things on them.
