Poor little guy is just miserable! I try the cold teething rings, bm ice cubes, regular teething rings. He jus screeches. At what point (if ever) and how often do you give Tylenol? Do you give a full dose or partial?
She had a few days of really bad teething before her two teeth popped through. Those couple days we gave her Tylenol 2-3 times a day. Only half a dose in the morning and afternoon and a full dose at night. I think she had it worse because she got two teeth at once. I decided it was time for Tylenol when she was crying uncontrollably with tears and wouldn't calm down. We also used frozen washcloths and she likes the razberry teether.
I have also heard that teething makes them drool more which leads to them swallowing more saliva and upsetting their tummies.. So sometimes gripe water helps.
If DD does this high pitched whimper I know she's in pain so I give it to her. Pedi says infant Tylenol is completely safe that it's ibuprofen that you have to be more careful with
I used it! DS2 had 6 teeth come through in 6 weeks anf it saved us! I dose by weight since he's a big guy. Topical stuff not recommended to use on babies in Canada..don't know about the states.
My LO is also having a tough time with teething. I give him a full dose before bed. During the day we do teething tablets. Our pediatrician said they like the tablets better than the topical stuff. If he is having a really tough time and chews on his fingers a lot I do a full dose of Tylenol during the day. We haven't had to use it during the day but that might change since he is getting more irritable. I might start doing half the dose in the morning half in the afternoon and a full dose at night
Thanks everyone! And thanks @mufflerlove for the reminder about saliva upsetting his tummy. That has definitely been happening and I forgot it might be teething related.
