Hi -
I am in the process of purchasing an umbrella stroller - we have a cruz, i love it, but want something that is easy to take in and out of the car and not too bulky. I am between the uppa g-luxe and valco snap - any thoughts on these or other umbrella/lightweight strollers?
Re: snap vs g-luxe?
(double). I like them both for different reasons.
The Snap is really a neat little stroller. It opens and closes in one step without your foot, is very lightweight (the double weighs less than the Maclaren), has an awesome basket and sunshade, and is all terrain. We took ours out to the pumpkin patch-no problem. It also handles gravel roads fine. I believe air tires are available for the 4 on Valco's site. It has a removable bumper bar. The fabric wipes clean easily, although some people might think it gets hot. It doesn't and I have black.
The G-Luxe is a great stroller if you travel a lot. It has a pretty easy open & close, although you will need your foot. The strap is attached and makes carrying it over your shoulder a breeze. The fabric is nice and soft, and I have had no problem cleaning it. It does have a cup holder, but the basket doesn't hold much more than a changing pad, diaper, wipe combo. It will not hold even a small diaper bag. It seems good in the neighborhood on sidewalks, but won't cut through grass like the snap. The UV shade is amazing, and probably my favorite feature. It will take up less space than the snap, although I did find out the single weighs the same as the G-Luxe.
A stroller I saw in my moms group that I really like as well is the Joovy Ultralight Groove Umbrella Stroller. It's a lot like the G-Luxe but the basket seems bigger. It also has a parent pocket section on the back like the Snap has, but the G-Luxe doesn't.
FWIW I originally wanted Maclarens with both my single and double stroller purchases, I just liked the G-Luxe and Snap features better.
