Pain and swelling.....

In my left wrist and hand. Swelling in between my index finger and thumb, feels like a bruise but is not bruised. It hurts when I grasp things or reach for something. Started yesterday I've taken ibuprofen elevated and iced it. Has anyone had this before or have an idea? I'm going to have one of the ortho docs look at it at work tomorrow. I was thinking maybe carpal tunnel but then I don't think it is comparing my symptoms to that.

I had an ortho doc look at this week says is called "mommy thumb" otherwise known as de quervain syndrome which is swelling of the tendon or tendinitis. So I had made an appt but it's 10 days away and it is so painful so I think tomorrow am I'm going to an ortho quick clinic and hopefully get a cortisone injection, and I hoping that is safe to have when breastfeeding.

Very common with new moms. Unfortunately the only treatment is ice/heat, Ibuprofen and a splint to immobilize your thumb( yeah not very easy with a baby). Cortisone shots may help but not sure if they are safe while BF. GL
