XP: twin gender reveal

A friend of mine, who is a photographer, is doing a gender reveal/maternity session for an expecting couple of di/di twins in 3 weeks and asked for my help in coming up with a gender reveal that can be photographed that does NOT involve cake or balloons.

She already has done one where they blind fold eachother and then have a "paint fight" with the corresponding gender paint color so she kinda wants to avoid this again.

Anybody have really creative ideas?! I'm drawing a blank in the creativity department...

  • We used Hershey bars. Either colored in the she's in pink or he's in blue. Or you can do 2 Hershey bars in case it's b/g twins. Wrap them up in neutral baby wrapping paper tie it with a bow so it looks pretty. We actually handed a wrapped candy bar to all our guests and had them unwrap it at the same time. It was really fun!! Especially since that's when everyone found out we were having twins too!

Pinata with coloured confetti or candies (maybe jelly beans?)
Box of helium balloons, remove the lid for balloon release

ETA - missed the no balloons thing, oops

  • I did a gender reveal for the grandparents... it was a "punch a bunch" game where we took turns pulling things out.

That's my huge goofy album. but I LOVED making the game and it was fairly simple.

or, you could have them walk through a big banner to see two big teddies bears too...

  • For Ours my mother placed colored flowers (1 bouquet in each hand of my husbands behind his back) and they took pictures of him leaning in giving me a kiss then presenting the flowers to me. The really cute ones were when he noticed we were getting two more boys and he threw them up in the air and was jumping up in down hugging me .... He was super excited, lol! Hope that makes sense! mobile bumping so I can't post the actually pictures.

22 ideas from someone more creative than I am.

We just revealed to DH's parents (mine don't live here) and we didn't want to wait for a party.  We are di/di so have the luxury of 3 guesses which is why this worked.  The day of our u/s i bought two girl outfits and two boy outfits.  After we found out what they were we boxed a boy outfit in two different boxes, met the in-laws for lunch, had them make their guesses, had MIL open hers first, then FIL.  If we would have had mo/mo or mo/di we would have had them open at the same time

  • @KatieGummow that's a great idea!! We took a poll, then had 3 kids open baby A box and 3 open baby B box. Their balloons popped out. Being di/di, that was fun.
