Really proud of myself for trusting my gut.......

Been a long few days in my house with a sick kiddo. She started with cold symptoms last Sunday.... Never really progressed. Friday I noticed another tooth cutting on top, so when she seemed a little worse on Saturday I assumed this was the culprit. Didn't sleep at all Saturday night - and when she started weezing around 5 last night I damn near lost my shit b/c it freaked me out. The weird thing though was no fever through it all...... I called the dr and asked to be seen ASAP this AM. Turns out - she has a "raging" ear infection. Score 1 for this mama, especially after the only other time I've taken her to the pedi to have her checked out and the guy was an as*.

On top of that my poor little girl is cutting FOUR top teeth. Poor thing, makes me so sad bc I know she's in a good deal of pain.

I'm operating on about 7 hours of sleep over the past two nights - much of that has come after 6 am when DH gets up with her. Looking forward to her meds kicking in and some better nights hopefully ahead.

Poor thing! Way to trust your mama instincts. Hopefully she's feeling better really soon. And you can both get some rest.

I hate teething and ear infections are bad too. Hope you all get some sleep soon.

As for jerk doctors, I once took Shannon because he had a high fever and was vomiting. It was winter and freezing in Wisconsin (duh) but the doc comes in and yells at me, yes yells at me for having Shannon dressed in a sweater. She says that he doesn't have a fever, he's just too warm and that's probably what was making him throw up too. What??? Yes, it was really warm in the exam room but I'm guessing they crank the heat up really high since babies and kids are in those rooms with their clothes off. I dress my kid for my house, which is like 65 degrees, not 80 degrees like the exam room. The doc was just such a jerk. The next day he broke out in a full body rash and his normal pedi diagnosed it as 5th disease. Yea, jerk doc, it was not just because he was hot. How did she even get a medical license?

I took Molly in September after 4 nights of not sleeping. We were going out of town that week and I wanted to make sure nothing was going on. The dr. told me that she wasn't teeting - she "may" have a cold etc. And then her tooth cut about a week later. On top of that he made it clear that I was wasting his time - the first time I had ever brought her in. I was irrate and put serious thought into leaving the practice. I have not seen him since and but have seen the same dr twice - and am finding I really like her. She will be Molly's primary dr in the practice... Kind of sad since the other one came SO highly reccomended by so many people.
