  • How are you feeling this week? Updates?  I'm exhausted. I fight to keep my eyes open, but yet can't sleep at night.  I'm guessing this is some part of a growth spurt, because I feel miserable.  At last weeks ultrasound, baby girl weighed in at 1lb 4 oz and baby boy at 1lb 2oz.  We also had our fetal echo since they are IVF babies, and both hearts look perfect.

Vent Away:  I just want to sleep.  I would also love to be able to go one day without excruciating lower back pain.

What have you bought so far?  Absolutely nothing.  We will probably start our registry right after Christmas.

Bed rest ladies.... How are you holding up? How are you keeping busy? I'm on modified rest for now.  Catching up on all of my bad tv.  Loaded up my ipad with books.  Also, will probably watch some youtube videos and attempt knitting.  LOL

Aches and Pains... How are dealing? I'm not dealing.  The back pain is the worst.  Even sleeping with my snoogle, it is still a pain in the ass.  Also, I've now developed the wonderful hip and pelvic pain.  Great. I'm going to talk with the doctor about getting a belly support belt.  Heard good things about them

GTKY: What is your favorite non-PG related book?  I have a list of these as well.  Off the top of my head.... Outlander series (Diana Gabaldon), anything by Sara Addison Addler, The light Between Oceans (not to be read while PG), anything by Kristen Ashley (my guilty pleasure books!)

Our baby boy,Logan, was born still at 19w3d on 7/1/2011
Our 2nd baby boy, Mason, was born still at 20w3d on 1/31/2012

After a much needed sanity break... we are praying for our rainbows

    ((BFP 7/29/13))  ((EDD 4/12/14))  It's BOY/GIRL twins!!!

  • Hi ladies, I haven't been able to post, reply, or PM for weeks due to some glitch at TB.com. I'm trying to figure out a way around it. Hopefully, mobile will work.

How are you feeling this week? Updates? Other than being tired and having the now-normal pelvic pains, I'm ok this week. We had our AS last week and we are having a boy and a girl, so we are super excited. Everyone looks healthy and they both weighed in at 15 oz.

Vent Away: I'm ready to start organizing the nursery, but hubs says we have time. There's just so much going on with the holidays and upcoming functions, that I'm afraid that I won't feel like doing anything later on.

What have you bought so far? We purchased our two cribs and a changing table only because we hit a heck of a Thanksgiving weekend sale. Our registry has been started, but that's about it.

Bed rest ladies.... How are you holding up? How are you keeping busy? Not on BR, but thinking about those of you that are.

Aches and Pains... How are dealing? I'm actually seeing a Physical Therapist this afternoon to help me mitigate the pelvic and sciatic pain. Some days I can barely walk. And most nights, it's what keeps me awake. Rolling over is the pits. I keep reminding myself that it's all going to be worth it.

GTKY: What is your favorite non-PG related book? Oh wow . . . that's a tough one. Favorite Classic was probably Gone With The Wind or The Lord of The Rings. But there are so many. :)
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • How are you feeling this week? Updates?  Awesome, we are team blue!  I love them so much it's ridiculous.  It is so much fun to call them by their gender, I have deep respect for those who can wait to find out.

Vent Away: Names are so hard to figure out.

What have you bought so far?  We are trying not to buy much at all, and hoping our showers will provide most of it.  I have gotten bedding and one outfit per boy (gender reveal to ILs).

Aches and Pains... How are dealing? I am not.  I don't look forward to bedtime anymore because my hips get so sore.  Last night I resorted to sleeping in a V shape with my hip hanging off the side of the bed.  Not fun.  We are going to have to get a better mattress.

GTKY: What is your favorite non-PG related book? I love fiction series, Twilight, 50 shades, Fever... When there are sexy scenes, even better.

How are you feeling this week? Updates? Things are starting to get uncomfortable at night and the exhaustion is coming back but other than that I'm okay.

Vent Away: I'm pretty independent and I don't like people doing things for me.  All of a sudden all I hear is "hold on I'll do that for you" and I'm kinda sad about losing some independence.  I know people are just being kind, this is better for everyone and I should just be appreciative (I am for the mots part) but I'm a little sad I'm not really self sufficient anymore. I guess I need to get use to it, lol.

What have you bought so far? I have a baby shopping problem.  Tons of clothes (I told myself I wouldn't do that), cribs, a stroller, 2 car seats, a huge stash of cloth diapers and accessories, The stuff to make mobiles, toys and I'm sure I'm forgetting some other things too.

Bed rest ladies....  How are you holding up?  How are you keeping busy? I'm not there (yet) but I wanted to give all you BR ladies a huge ((hug)).

Aches and Pains... How are dealing? I complain to hubby a lot but only him.

GTKY: What is your favorite non-PG related book? There are so many.  "Lonesome dove", the "Earths children Series" starting with "Clan of the Cave Bear" and "Night Circus" come to mind immediately.

  • ckred27, what stroller did you end up getting?  Glad to hear MBR isn't miserable for you!

figgs0831, I am so sorry to hear about your back pains, I have heard that belt helps a lot as well!
kbatchetee Welcome back!  Congrats on your b/g twins!  How fun! Good luck with the nursery, I like to get things out of the way, as well.
LittleLady77 I totally get what you mean about the independence thing.  I have found myself saying, "thank you but I can still do it," quite often.  It is a sweet gesture, but still... Hope night time gets a little more manageable, that's not fun at all.

  • KatieGummow  I got the double BOB. Had the single for my older boys and loved it! Wont use it till the twins are a lil older, but will work for my older boys until then, in the mean time the double snap n go ROCKs for infants. They always like to fall alseep in those carseats and the last thing you wanna do is wake them up in transfer to another stroller/seat/swing ect. Back to BOB, its kinda huge, you need a large trunk (fits in my Murano, hoping it till fit in whatever minivan we end up getting) but its really easy to unfold and so smooth to walk w. on sidewalk, gravel, sand ect. love it. :)

  • How are you feeling this week? Updates? 23w3d today. I'm slowing down. I still feel good, but feeling it more and more every day. I have a dry cough from the cold air / inversion that is bugging me and making it hard to breathe.

Vent Away:  Found my first stretch marks. Boo.

What have you bought so far?  Stroller, mobile and mirror. (The mobile and mirror are the ones I registered for from Pottery Barn. They were on sale with free shipping this weekend and I'd just gotten a small Christmas bonus from my job so I ordered them. I'd like two of each so hoping someone else gets me one for a shower gift. :) ) I've also received a few gifts so far and a few hand me down items, but i'm going to hold off shopping until after the showers, too.

Bed rest ladies.... How are you holding up? How are you keeping busy?Luckily no bed rest for me yet. Hugs to those who are.

Aches and Pains... How are dealing? Lower back aches at the end of the day, usually after being on my feet too much. I have found chiropractic adjustments to help as well as warm baths. Today I'm getting a massage... Ahhh ..

GTKY: What is your favorite non-PG related book? Love this question! I need to check out some of the books suggested. Some of my favorites are The Glass Castle, 1000 Splendid Suns, Grapes of Wrath, Harry Potter, Anne of Green Gables.

  • How are you feeling this week? Updates?
22w on Wednesday! Feeling tired and hips and back sore while sleeping. I actually feel pretty good right now. Measuring 29w as of 21w.

    Vent Away:
Just my blood sugar. Even w insulin, I'm screwed. I eat healthy, low carb, whole food, and still have high BS.

What have you bought so far?
A twin graco pnp, last night I bought a Beco Butterfly 2 for hubby and me to use when another baby is bring carried/worn. We wont use a stroller. After the first 5 kids, we realized we never used it. So w number 6, we just carried and wore him. So that's what we will do. Even getting convertible car seats that hold preemies (combi corroco) instead of infant.

Bed rest ladies.... How are you holding up? How are you keeping busy?
Not there yet, but MFM predict no later than 26-30 due to previous pgcys.

Aches and Pains... How are dealing?
Living it. Sucks but oh well.

GTKY: What is your favorite non-PG related book?
Anything Janet evanovich and Sarah strohmeyer. And Karen Marie moning. Whew to that one!! ;)

  • Hey Ladies! It's been a while since I've had the chance to post but I hope I'm still welcome here :)

I'm 23 weeks and on partial bedrest now. My blood pressure was high at the last appointment but I'm hoping that resting more and cutting out salt helps. My hips are getting so sore! My back is holding up ok so far thank goodness.
In better news, we finally confirmed that we are team purple! Their names are Samuel and Caroline :)

Hopefully I can keep up more now that I'm supposed to be resting now, I'd like to keep up with you guys. This twin pregnancy is totally different from my single baby pregnancy!

  • Barrons= yum yum!!
  • Momof8inSCMaiTaiBeth, did you see she has 2 new fever books out?  "Iced" which is in the view of Dani, and "Fever Moon" which is the 7th book.

  • @katiegummow I read iced, it was good but I felt Dani was too young for a few of the scenes, but will get the next one. I thought fever moon was a comic style book?

Glad you told me this before I bought Fever Moon! Would you say one should read Iced or can live without it?
Also, have you read Highlander? Worth it?

  • How are you feeling this week? Updates? Feeling pretty good. I actually went to the gym this past weekend and worked out for the first time in a long time! Well, water aerobics isn't a huge work-out for me, but it was more than I've done in months!

Vent Away: I took my wedding and engagement rings off this weekend. My fingers started swelling a little and I'm worried about the rings getting stuck. I'm kinda bummed I had to take them off already.

What have you bought so far? 2 car seats, a 2-camera video monitor, 5 cloth diapers, a small couch for the nursery, a used double snap and go. All items were on super sales!

Bed rest ladies....  How are you holding up?  How are you keeping busy? NA - I so feel for you ladies dealing with it though. It's hard for me to imagine being on bed rest already!

Aches and Pains... How are dealing? Not too many aches and pains yet. I'm very lucky.

GTKY: What is your favorite non-PG related book? East of Eden (John Steinbeck), The Handmaid's Tale (Margaret Atwood), Summer Sisters (Judy Blume), The Giver (Lois Lowry), Anne of Green Gables (Lucy Maude Montgomery)

@krosetoes are you going to attempt to CD too? I'm excited for it but I've bought close to 15 diapers to start with, maybe more. All my friends think I'm crazy. I joined a FB group called the Cloth Diaper Compendium! And it has been wildly helpful. People go on there and ask questions when things are going wrong so it makes it seem hard but I think it will be great.

  • How are you feeling this week? Updates?

This group always makes me feel so much better. I am feeling SO tired. I mean totally wiped out. Just getting through the day is exhausting. Then I logged on and saw that you ladies are having a hard time too, and I feel SO much better! I just need to find the time and space to calm down and rest some. It's just tough becuase work is so very busy the week before a break (I'm a middle school teacher).

    Vent Away:

That whole having to catch your breath thing is tough!

What have you bought so far?

On cyber monday, we bought carseats and a double stroller! I've also bought some clothes on consignment.

Bed rest ladies....  How are you holding up?  How are you keeping busy?

I am thinking of all of you! Sending you really good thoughts!

Aches and Pains... How are dealing?

Ugh--yeah, this part isn't going to get easier is it? My feet hurt pretty badly, and my back is always sore. I have gotten one massage because I had a gift certificate, and I felt better for a couple of days. Baths feel really nice. I also got into the pool for the first time since being pregnant. I can barely swim like I used to only a few months ago, but floating felt amazing!

GTKY: What is your favorite non-PG related book?

Oh wow--this is tough! I really love reading! I thought Unbroken was incredible, all of the Lord of the Rings, Neil Gaiman books. I also love some good action/thriller books too, and the occasional romance :-) I just like to read!

  • @krosetoesLittleLady77 I am going to try to CD too :-) at least part of the time...I have been depending mostly on friends, but am going to look at those resources too!

  • I've cd my last 3 children and loved it. I think w the twins, having 6 other kids, and homeschooling, we are going to nix CDing this time around. Maybe when they're older or if their skin needs CDs. I don't think I can handle washing every day to every other day this go round. It was every 3rd day w the other kids.
  • @ckred27 I'm with you on the being tired.  I hit a hard wall last week.  Hopefully you get your energy back soon!

@kbatchetee I've been having TB issues too.  I can only post from my work comuter.  Everywhere else won't allow me!  aWW... CONGRATS ON TEAM PURPLE!!! So exciting.

@Katiegummow Team Blue!!!!!!  All those books are my faves too!  If you really want a fun read (with lots of sexy scenes) read anything y Kristen Ashley.  Her books are seriously addictive.

@littlelady77 Your shopping addiction is hilarious.  I'm so behind compared to everyone!  I was independant too and now it sucks.  I'v'e just put my pride aside for the moment and am letting it happen.  Just a few more months until I can regain my life back.  Also, enjoy it while it lasts.  I have a feeling we will all be begging for some help as these babies continue to grow.

  • @zazu13 Ugh, stretch marks!  Hopefully they won't get much worse!  Glad you are still feeling good though.  I am starting to treasure the days that I feel like a human being.  I've readd all your favorites too! I was surprised at how much i enjoyed 1000 Splendid Suns.

@momof8insc Sorry to hear about the GD.  It must be so hard finding that balance to keep your numbers steady.  I am still in awe that you are on to 7 and 8!  Do you have help nearby incase you do go on bedrest early?

@abbypug19 Of course you are still welcome!  Sorry to hear about the bedrest.  Will they let you off if your BP goes back down?  And... Yay for another team purple!!!!

@maitaibeth I hate that you are dealing with all of this.  Praying that your cervix holds and your girls get here safely (in another 3 months at minimum).  You are lucky that you can work from home though.  I can do a day here or there, but definitely not an entire week.  On a lighter note... I didn't know they were making it into a series!  I just started book 7, so I'm not quite done with it yet.  Do you know when they are planning to come out with it?

Our baby boy,Logan, was born still at 19w3d on 7/1/2011

  • @krosetoes I give you alot of credit for working out.  That idea is so far from my mind it's not even funny.  I had to remove my rings too.  They were getting a bit snug, so it was better to be safe.  I'll probably go to the store and pick up a cheapy band just to get through the next few months.  My hand feels so naked!

@kdarden15 I hope you get some rest over the holiday break! I can't imagine teaching a roomful of children at this point.  I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

  • @figgs0831 my oldest 2 are 14 and 13 and even my 9 year old is very mature. They help and will help when I sure to go on BR. I do w all pgcys, doubt I'll squeak by w this one LOL!
My ILs also live on our street but I have a complex about asking for help other than watching the kids for a few hours for our Friday night date.
But yeah, oldest 3 will help out. The oldest girl (13) cooks as well as an adult and they all have chores. I homeschool, so they will be here at all times to help w the littles.

How are you dealing? On home BR?
  • kdarden15 that facebook group is amazing.  You'll have to let me know how the CDing goes.  What king of diapers did you get?

I got a few of each:

  • How are you feeling this week? Updates? Good! Stressed just a little bit but a lot better after Monday's appointment! Girl's look so good, A is head down and B is breech so all of their little kicks are right in the middle of my stomach!

Vent Away: My acne and now I have Eczema around my mouth, hands and back... I just can't win with my skin :(. I'm tired and wish I didn't have weird sleep patterns.

What have you bought so far? A stroller, yay! We are opening it on Christmas Day. Ordered some preemie clothes from carter's sale, so cute and itty bitty! I also got my first cloth diapers this week and got super excited (been trying to do my homework). My sister gave me hand me downs and her high chair now that she's done with them and that's about it right now!

Bed rest ladies.... How are you holding up? How are you keeping busy? Luckily doc said she couldn't find the bleed and that cervix was looking so good she wants me to still take it easy but she said now's your time to prepare for those LO's while you still can! So I'm trying to be organized and get things done!

Aches and Pains... How are dealing?
100 x's better after seeing the chiropractor and getting a new bra! I still use a heat pad every once in awhile.

GTKY: What is your favorite non-PG related book? I love books and reading, there are so many good ones! Right now I am reading "Mere Christianity" by CS Lewis. Love "the four agreements", "the Giver", "Ender's game" and I still love all the Harry potter, hunger games, twilight, lion, witch & the wardrobe, anne of green gables and the true blood series.
  • kdarden15 that facebook group is amazing.  You'll have to let me know how the CDing goes.  What king of diapers did you get?

I got a few of each:
    - prefoldes/covers
    - AIO (All in ones)
    - hybrids (gdiapers)
    - pocket (Kawaii pure & Natural)

You will LOVE prefolds and covers for NB stage. Aios are great (I used BumGenius aios), not a fan of gdiapers, kawaii is my fave pocket and I don't care for pockets (I used exclusively w first cd baby). My fave with last baby were prefolds and covers, then fitteds and wool, and aio.

  • My hips are killing me. That is all.
  • Momof8inSC Thanks.  I'm excited.

  • How are you feeling this week? Updates?

Feeling ok.....outside of the babies locating my sciatic nerve and waddling :-) I feel pretty good. Babies are looking GREAT!! Got some good news today. We had our regular amniotic fluid scan today and both babies fluids have gone down into the normal range :-) That was awesome news. Baby A still has the cyst that seems to be consistently growing but we are meeting with the surgical team in a couple of weeks to see what the plan is.

    Vent Away:

I miss my body. Not so much my pre pregnancy body, I miss my body being mine. I love these two guys but I cannot wait until March when they are finally here!!!

What have you bought so far?

My husband has bought WAY to many clothes!!!! I'm semi obsessed with sock monkey everything so I bought a couple of blankets and sleepers :-) And we are signed up for a monthly rotation of diapers and wipes from amazon.

Aches and Pains... How are dealing? I'm reducing my work days to two days a week next week and I cannot wait! That will help will most of my aches and pains, not having to commute every single day. And I'll stop going in altogether late January.

GTKY: What is your favorite non-PG related book?

Ok so its not my favorite book BUT I loved all three of the 50 shades books. I know lots of people say how poorly written it was and how ridiculous it all sounded BUT my husband really enjoyed the time I was reading those books!!! LOL....My best friend and I read them together and would discuss and no it wasn't mind blowing literature but it definitely led to mind blowing sex at home!!

As of now, I'm not reading anything non PG related :-( I should before the boys get here!!

  • How are you feeling this week? Updates?  I've been feeling great!!!  I still have my hip pain, but I'm learning to deal with that.  We found out we are having two boys!  We go back for the echo on 1/2 ...excited to see my babies again!  Baby A was being quite the stinker at the Dr on Tuesday because every time she went to put the doppler on him he would kick it.  Dr looked at me and said...you have some very active little boys!

Vent Away: BLoody noses.....anyone else getting them??  Good grief....I had one last night and it drove me nuts!!!

What have you bought so far? We had a crib and double stroller given to us....my friend had twin boys so she has been wonderful!!!  My SIL had a little boy last November and saved all his clothes so we have a HUGE bin of clothes already!!!

Bed rest ladies.... How are you holding up? How are you keeping busy?

Aches and Pains... How are dealing? I'm dealing ok.  I have upper back pain (which I thought was strange).  I'm very surprised I don't have lower back pain as I also have scoliosis.  I still have my hip pain, but know how I can "sleep" to help make it not so bad.

GTKY: What is your favorite non-PG related book?  Hmmm....I don't read much but I loved the 50 Shades books.....I'm a HUGE dog person so I LOVED LOVED Amazing Gracie!  That book made me start making my own dog treats.  :)

  • I'm glad to see other twin moms trying cloth diapering too. Makes me feel a little less crazy. My plan is to go with BG 4.0s for the most part. They seem easiest to me. A friend gave me a few used Fuzzibunz though, so I'll try those too. I think we'll probably start with disposables when they're tiny and as we're getting used to being parents! (And I don't really want to deal with buying newborn cloth diapers.) Once they're big enough, we'll switch them to the cloth.

  • So I went to chiropractor and omg I was jacked up! My hips and upper back/neck/left shoulder were baaaad. I was 3/4" shorter on my right side. He adjusted me and I FELT things slip back to place. I Slept last night better than I have in MONTHS. I love Chiro care but was skeptical during pregnancy as I've only had the websters technique done (which worked!!) during another pgcy. I just wanna say, for those having massive hip pain, especially at night, it's worth a shot. Make sure the Chiro specializes in pregnancy care though. I nearly cried when I woke up this morning after actually sleeping.
