Crafty mamas - ornament question

I bought handprint ornament kits at BBB for the grandparents (and one for us) - they're super easy and came out fairly well... but they're kind of... plain. I wanted to add glitter or something that wouldn't be super obnoxious, but the material of the ornament is kind of delicate and I don't want to ruin it. (It was a clay that I had to knead, then spread out, and now it's VERY light...) Any suggestions? Is there a glitter SPRAY or something? (I also don't want it to shed glitter everywhere, because that's a personal pet peeve)

    There are glitter sprays you can get (I like the Martha Stewart one) and them you can go over it with a clear finishing spray.
