*update* First u/s later today; really nervous

I have managed to hold it together until today, but now I am a bit of a wreck. 

With our loss, we had our first u/s at 8 weeks and we never saw a heartbeat. Growth had stopped at 6w1d. So, to me, ultrasounds mean diagnostic testing or bad news. I can't even wrap my head around what good news would feel like.

I am 6w3d today, and I want to be hopeful (I'm trying!), but pgal brain has definitely set in today. I go in this afternoon, and I will update after that.
*Update* We have a strong heartbeat!! I am officially further along than I have been. Today, I am pregnant. Today, I am happy. :) Thanks again for your good thoughts.

    I totally relate. My first u/s is tomorrow. I am trying to stay calm and not let fear eat me alive.  Today I am pregnant and I love my baby... repeat.  And, there is nothing I can do to change the outcome, it is out of my hands. Those mantra's are the only words keeping me looking ahead. GL today!  I will be thinking of you.

    I'm so sorry to hear that you are nervous!  I completely understand!  I went for my first U/S at 6 weeks, 1 day, and I was measuring behind so there was only a gestational sac and yolk sac (so I was freaking out!)...so they had me come in a week later, and sure enough, baby measured on time and there was the beautiful heartbeat!  So just don't worry too much (easier said than done, I know) if you don't see everything the first time!  Try to stay positive!  FX for you, and please update us later:)

    I hope the appointment goes well! It would be awful of me to tell you to try and breathe because, well, that whole "pot/kettle" thing! I hope it goes superbly and that you update us later with HB and a very sticky baby!

    Me: 06/12 Dx w/ IR PCOS (rx 2000 metformin) DH: SA all clear; looking good
    06/12-10/12- Clomid/Femara + trigger + TI + P4 = 3 BFNs, hysteroscopy, polypectomy, D&C
    11/12 - 7.5 mg Femara + trigger + IUI + P4 = BFN
    12/12 - Surprise BFP ectopic (MTX 01/13)
    04/13 - Off the Bench! 7.5 mg Femara + trigger + IUI #2 + estradiol + P4 = BFN
    05/13 Clear HSG-5 mg Femara + Menopur + trigger + IUI #3 + P4 = BFP ectopic (MTX 07/03 & 07/11)
    07/23 emergency lap to remove ectopic mass and left tube
    10/13 5mg Femara + Menopur + trigger + TI(follie on left/no IUI)=BFN
    11/13 Same as above but BFP!

    Good luck today.  I'm wright there with you.  I have mine in 90 minutes.  We never got to the point where we saw a great hb with previous 2, so today is our huge milestone.  I'll be thinking of you.

    Good luck today and just remember that like you all of my previous u/s gave me bad news- so I tried to tell myself that it only takes one to break the pattern! That happened to me after we saw a great heartbeat and then the next u/s also saw a little wiggling gummy bear; so just keep the faith. :)

    No. Same EDD, based on LMP. I didn't do any OPKs that cycle because we were gearing up for an IUI on the next cycle.
