::Breathe In, Breathe Out:: venting...

Not only does my entire family DH, DD and I all have a cold, cough and/or fever, or some variation of the listed, but...

-DH has called out twice from work in the past two weeks for this cold.  Meanwhile, I, no matter how sick I am - the house still needs me (DD needs me, DS needs me, the animals need me...I don't have time to be in bed)

-I need to do bills, order Christmas gifts, and work on cleaning up the little piles of stuff around the house that have accumulated for the past month

-DD has only given me 2 - 3.5h sleep sessions last night, and then proceeded to stay up for 1.5hours

-DS came in to our bedroom ready for the day today, at 5:45a.

-I decided getting a fresh tree this year is just a stress we don't need.  We are struggling with the animals, the tree would probably turn brown this week.  So we opted for a faux Christmas Tree my IL's sent us.

This is just to vent, and when I am dog-tired and really overwhelmed. I want to yell & scream at DH...that does nothing except stress me/us out more.  There is no amount of coffee this morning that could wake me up and put me in a better mood - but I hate this mood I have now.  I think I just reached my limit of stress.  Is it too early for wine??  lol j/k.

  • I'm sorry! Rough night here too. After thinking things were finally getting better w our reflux baby, she projectile vomited everywhere last night and now she's been up all night coughing and being muscusy and now I have a giant headache. Parenting small children is not for wimps. I hope your DH gets his act together and can help you out.

    Ugh there's nothing worse than a sick mom because you're right, there are no sick days for you. I think breathing in and breathing out is gonna be your best bet for today. And maybe wine at 4pm?? And a gif??

    Good luck today!!

  • At a family gathering last night, I asked DH if he had relaxed a bit b/c I hadn't yet and had a headache from fatigue. We were interrupted and when I came back he was falling asleep in a recliner. He told me he needed to get his rest so he could help out later... Uh, I need to be more direct about: watch the kids NOW so I can get MY rest. To generalize DHs are not good at the baby stage and step it up for toddler and school age. Thankfully I have the experience that this too is a phase: Once DH is comfortable taking both kids out (a year?), I'll get lots of me-time! (he knows he owes me ;) ). I hope it feels more doable today.

  • Everybody's sick... Survival mode!! You have a ton on your plate. Just keep everyone fed and clean enough to make it to tomorrow. Breathe!! You can work everything out once you're healthy again. :)

    I needed this. Thank you for venting. I've been sending crying baby videos to DH at work. Breast feeding is rocky--think baby has reflux OR caffeine is the culprit for excessive gas and screaming at the breast. I'm mad at myself and feeling like I can't take care of my dog, myself, baby, and still make the house run!! I hope you feel better and again thank you for venting because it made me feel like I'm experiencing the "norm" for new moms.

    EDit: also DH is dumping his work secret Santa shopping on me because he has our boss. I have no creative energy for that crap!!
