One year molars

Has anyone's LO gotten these yet? It seems a little early, but I think Ainsley is getting hers and it is a nightmare! She won't eat, and by the time she went to bed tonight, wouldn't even take a bottle or a sippy. She is drooling all over, has sores around her mouth and she even has a slight bruise on her cheek. Her gums terribly swollen too. We have tried everything...Tylenol, ibuprophen, teething tablets, orajel, cold things to chew. Nothing is touching it. She has never had this much trouble with her other teeth. How long does it take for these suckers to come in? Someone please tell me this will pass, because these damned teeth are miserable!!

Milla has two molars with the other two poking through. The first was horrid! It took about a month, she still has major drool but not as crabby and her sleep is back on track unless she's in extreme pain.
If she has sores in her mouth I'd go in and have the pedi look in case she has hand foot and mouth too.
Milla still nurses fine, just eats less when it's bad.

A month? Seriously? She only has sores around her mouth, not inside. I think it is just because of the drool, which hasn't done since she was about four months old. She sleeps face down in her crib (awesome, I know), and I think she was laying in a big, wet drool spot all night last night. I don't know how were going to get through a month or more of this. Poor thing is absolutely inconsolable and I don't know what else to do for her : (

The really bad part lasted around a week. Not the whole month. Not that a week is great, but it's better than a month.

So, turns out I was wrong, and I think she does have hand, foot and mouth disease now. She woke up with more mouth sores this morning, and I see one on the tip of her tongue. Little red spots are starting on her hands and feet now too. The biggest problem is that she won't drink anything, so I am concerned about dehydration. I don't want to give her more Tylenol or ibuprophen until I can get a decent amount of fluid into her. We are going to the doctor this morning, so we'll see what he says. Poor baby : (

Aw, poor girl. Just keep offering, try some frozen items, all natural Popsicles, ice in a mesh feeder, that sort of thing. I hope she feels better soon.

Thanks : ). I managed to coax some ice cream into her this morning. I figured that might feel good on her sore mouth. She will drink a little out of a normal cup, but she isn't very good at it, so most of it ends down the front of her. Still not enough fluids to give her more Tylenol for my comfort level.

Talk with your doctor. My oldest had this is 9 months old (he had it only in his mouth) and we were told to give him cold Malox to coat his throat and that did help- we did it before meals. It lasted @ 5 days (but 2 were the worst). My 2nd child had them only on her feet and hands and we would apply Tree Tea Oil (you can get it at Walmart in the pharmacy department) with a cotton ball on all the sores and they were gone in 2 days and she wasn't bothered by it. My friends children had it at the same time and they're sores lasted 2 weeks so I know it really helped us!

So, the doctor prescribed lidocaine, which we mix with Maloxx and liquid Benadryl. We swab it on her tongue with a q tip. I did one dose earlier and it did seem to help, but is wearing off now. Poor baby : (

Hand foot and mouth is terrible! When DS had it he would only eat Popsicle so I got the pedialyte ones to keep his electolytes up and made smoothies out of bananas, milk, baby food (you could add protein powder too) and occasionally he would take a couple bites of oatmeal. Hope it passes soon!
