Summer Trip w/o DD

My DH and I are thinking about trying to plan a Caribbean vacation for this summer as one of our last trips with just us. Reasoning is we are wanting to start trying for our 2nd child this summer and this would be last trip with just 2 of us for long time. We also thought it may be easier to get away now w just one child than down the road. And we want our future trips to involve the kids.

By summer and the trip out DD would be about 1 yr and 3 months. Our plan would be for her to stay w both sets of grandparents while we are gone. We are also planning a 2nd mini vacation w her over the summer.

Do you think this is a bad idea or bad age to be gone for an extended period of time less than a week? How long would you feel comfortable being away? DD has sleepovers at gmas so we can have date night etc. thoughts?

I don't think it's a bad age to be gone for a while. My son was very adaptable at that age but of course it depends on your child's personality and developmental stage. And it's less than a week so I say go for it! I am so glad DH and I took a few mini vacations before TTC #2- especially since it happened first try for us. I would just keep having sleepovers with the caregivers before your trip so your baby is used to them and their house (if baby is staying there). Sounds like a great trip!

We are going to Mexico in April! Baby will befine with ggrandma for a few days! Gotta make time for yourselves too

We plan to do the same, although I don't think I'll make it for a whole week! Maybe 4 days or so.

We are going on a week cruise at the end of the month. LO is staying with gma and gpa. I'm gonna be a mess but H and I need this time realllllllly bad.
