Annoyed - I got a speeding ticket :( -sorry, it's longer than I thought

Ugh!  It's been one of those mornings!

DH usually drops Hailey off at daycare but he had to go out of town for the day so I dropped her off.  It's freezing here with a crazy windchill.  I really wanted Starbucks to warm me up.  There is a shopping center with a drive-thru Starbucks close to Hailey's daycare so I stopped there.

 Behind the shopping center is a side street that cuts over to the road that the daycare is on.  I literally haven't been on this street since I was in high school so I'm not completely familiar with it.  Apparently it's considered residential but all of the condos/townhouses are on streets off of this particular side street.

The sun was REALLY bright and I couldn't see much so I was just going with the flow of traffic.  The "flow" was going about 15mph over the speed limit.  Because I was at the end, the cop got me.

He was a total jerk and, when I asked if he could help me out a little and maybe give me a warning instead, he turned in to a complete jerk.  I haven't gotten a ticket since 1999 nor have I been pulled over since.  When I brought that up he said that I could use the same excuse next time I get pulled over if he only gave me a warning.  He told me he can't pick and choose who he gives tickets to.

I'm annoyed at myself b/c I know I was speeding but I honestly didn't know it when I was doing in.  And I'm really annoyed b/c this messed up my driving record :(

    That sucks... some cops can be real jerks, I got pulled over because I was doing 3mph over the limit (yes three) and questioned for 20 minutes over who's car it was and where I had gotten it... I wanted to be like "hey prick, isn't it my name on the registration?"

    What a jerk. Bah Humbug to him!!!! Not sure if you guys have traffic ticket lawyers up there, they are all over the place down here in South Florida. If you do I'd suggest you fight the ticket. You'll end up paying a small portion of it but it won't even get on your record.

    Yeah, I think I'm going to at least show up in court.  Worst case is that it stays what it is.  Best case the cop doesn't show and it all gets dropped.
