Please share your hotel travel tips

So in February we are going to Disney with my parents/DS.  We haven't traveled with DS in a hotel since he was about 4 months old; we have always just stayed with family when we go somewhere.  The hotel room is a standard hotel room (i.e. a studio) so I'm not sure how to put him down for naps/bed when we're all in the same room like that...I mean he sure as heck isn't going to lay down and go to sleep if DH and I are walking around or sitting on the bed reading or whatever; he'll try to engage us.  I really don't want us to cram into the bathroom for 30 minutes until he goes to sleep, but is that what people generally do?  I know if he sees us he won't lay down and go to sleep but when you're all in the same room what do you do?

    I've never traveled with a LO before, but could you just kick everyone out of the room until DS falls asleep? Would he wake up if everyone came back in quietly while he was sleeping. You could take turns being on baby watch duty while everyone else goes to explore outside, hang out by the pool, etc.

    We just turn off the lights and tv until she falls asleep. She has always stayed in the P&P and never gotten up, but she'll watch the tv or try to talk to us if she can. Once it's quiet with the lights out, she falls right asleep.

    Thanks for all the ideas.  I'd love to just stick him in bed with us but DS thinks beds are gymnastics arenas and just climbs on us and plays in the covers for hours.  Literally, hours.  I mean HOURS.  LOL.  I think we may have to hide out in the bathroom or just make it super dark so and quiet so he doesn't know we're there, at least until he falls asleep, and then we can pop back out and read on our Kindles or watch TV or something.  Thanks everyone!
