I'm getting married in 12 days and still can't decide how I want to do my hair! So I thought it would be fun to see what you girls think! I have long blonde hair that goes half way down my back and I'm stuck between these 2 hairstyles:
What kind of veil/head piece are you wearing? I love you dress and I think I like the second style (blond girl) best with your dress. However, If you are wearing a birdcage veil or some kind of fascinator I like the other hair style better.
I agree, I was thinking about doing a birdcage veil but now I'm just doing a simple short veil with light beading along the side (it's not going to cover my face, it's just a 1 piece). & thank you!:) I'm just torn because I have a tattoo on the back of my right shoulder of a song my mother used to sing to me (she passed away a few years ago) and I definitely want it to be noticeable.. But at the same time I'm wearing a strapless dress, so I guess it will be seen either way haha.
I like the 2nd one (blonde girl).hair near my face really bothers me though so that may be affecting my opinion. Both are beautiful and you will look wonderful in that dress!
2nd style gets my vote. If you do the side pony it will cover the bust of your dress and your hair may get caught in the beading. I would wear the 1st style if there was an amazing back detail of the dress you wanted to show off. But it looks like the bust and the mermaid bottom are the focal point. The 2nd choice would show that off better.
The side one will make really nice pictures. If you're worried about looking wide in your dress (i.e. the strapless ones create a long horizontal line) for photos, the side one will create a really nice vertical framing for the face without obscuring it.
For convenience, I'd be tempted to go with the all-back one. The wedding's no big deal -- the reception, in my experience, is where shit gets CRAY. The less fuss, the better.
The side one looks more formal to me, but that's kind of because the ends on the other girl's hair are styled to look unkept. The side one is something I'd have to pay someone to do; the all-back I could do myself.
Okay, final thoughts: the side one reads "gorgeous young woman," i.e. it looks pretty but sophisticated. The all-back seems kind of too girlish to me. Kind of prom-y.
Edit: one more thought -- I always say, the dress is supposed to show off you, not you show off the dress. Choose the hair and so forth that will make you feel fabulous.
Gorgeous dress! My vote would be for the second style. I agree from PPs that the side one is more unique but I feel that it is a trendy hairstyle right now (I wore many side ponies when I was about eight years old so it came back). The half up is more timeless. You could maybe wear it half up for the ceremony and to the side for the reception?
I love the first one! I also did a side pony for my wedding and my only advice is to think how you will be standing at the alter and what side you want the side pony on from there. I didn't think of that so it kinda looks funny since all my hair is swooped over to one side and it doesn't look all that nice in the side profile pictures. Hope that makes sense on what I'm trying to say lol.
Second one. My dress had similar beading and we tried different hairstyles with my dress before the wedding. (My cousin is my hair stylist) I chose close to the second hairstyle with a little more defined curl. I noticed with the side pony my hair got caught in my beading, also you have the choice of sweeping your hair to one side for pictures to show your tattoo or pushing it back for the reception so it's not pulling on the beads all night.
Here is a pic if my wedding hair. I think its a combination of the two. And although I would have preferred my hair pulled to the ther side I'm glad my stylist made me do it this was so it was shown in pics wout my hubby covering it up! Hope you have an amazing day!
