We just started introducing purees to LO over the past two weeks. Am seeing a lot of ladies giving actual solids like s. Potatoes, bananas etc. Anyone else still just feeding purees? And how old are the LOs who are getting solids?
LO gets mostly homemade purees. He has tried gnawing on some "real" foods too. He is 6 months. A lot of times, when people use the term "solid foods," they are referring to purees too. They are solid as compared to breastmilk or formula, even if they aren't truly solid.
LO just turned 5 months this week (late June due date and then late baby) so he is still exclusively nursing. We will start solids after the holidays. I will be doing oatmeal for a couple days then purées.
I do both purée and finger food. Just depends on what it is... I'm more comfortable with purées but she is really interested in my food so I sometimes share what I am having, as long as I think she can safely eat it. She's 6.5 months.
Re: Who's still feeding purees?
solids=purees in our book. unless it's something like toast or baby cookies/crackers that she has been gnawing while shes cutting teeth.
We will start with puree.
