Updated- People suck! I want to kill someone (vent)

Hey Ladies - sorry I went MIA but we had a very serious situation at our animal rescue. One of our very dedicated volunteers broke up with her fiancé and in retaliation he came to our shelter and mixed some kind of poison in to our bins of dog food.
We didn't know what was going on when we had two dogs go down with kidney failure and then dozens of dogs started getting sick. As it stands right now - 3 dogs died 5 more had to be put to sleep and we have 13 dogs still needing dialysis to keep them alive.
I am heartbroken for the dogs we lost, I am heartbroken for the dogs that are suffering and I am heartbroken because we may have to close down our rescue because if the situation and our blazing vet bills.
Some long time volunteers and board of directors members have been working round the clock to keep the dogs alive and keep fluids in them. All of this because some piece of shit wanted to get back at someone. And why did she break up with him? Because he cheated on her. I hope he rots in hell!!! Or in jail where I hope he stays a very long time.
Ugh - for my life I don't know why ass shits like this are allowed to live.

Update - thank you all for your support. The sick bastard is in jail but unfortunately we met yesterday and voted to temporarily close the rescue. There is a bit more to our decision than just what is on the surface - we were using unapproved land for our rescue. We had the rescue operating on land that was zoned for farm land and not approved to run a kennel on. We are now in trouble with the township and they want us shut down. My heart is breaking because while all the volunteers will still help animals - together we were such a great force.
Our next step is to find a location that is zoned for kenneling and then we can start fundraising and working toward rebuilding our rescue. We were a legitimate 501 rescue and were very well know in our community. The outpouring of support has been incredible. Many many people asked what they could do and many have made donations directly to our vets to treat the dogs still needing medical care while others have offered to take some of our dogs and cats and foster then while we rebuild. So our "farm" will still house our rescued horses, donkeys, goats and alpaca while the cats and dogs will be relocated to foster homes.
I'll keep everyone updated when this sick F^ck gets his day.

Oh my goodness!! That is awful! I hope y'all are able to press charges for trespassing and animal cruelty and whatever else y'all can get him on! What a horrible person. I'm so sorry for those poor animals and that you're having to deal with this situation!

Thanks sweetie - I haven't been this Angry and sad all at once in a long time. I think I could really beat him to death if given the opportunity.

Wow! He really must be crazy if he thinks it ok to poison innocent dogs who have already are having a rough time (by not being in loving homes). I'm so sorry that you have to deal with all this.

My heart and prayers go out to those poor dogs that are sick. I hope they all recover and find loving homes. You and your staff are angels for giving up so much to take care of these dogs.

This just breaks my heart and angers me to no end. How can someone possibly harm defenseless creatures. These are the type of people that serial killers are made from! Hope he suffers in jail for a very very long time. Hugs to you PA. I love all you do for these shelters.

The depths people will go. What a complete ass wad. I'm so sick thinking of these poor puppies. I agree with Geordie. Can you post it all over. There are people who can help, both with time and with finances, especially this time of year. Thinking and praying for all of the poor dogs in this situation. How horrible.

Oh. My. God. I am just horrified to read this. How could someone be so sick? Many serial killers start off by harming animals! He sounds like a sick F*&(@! He needs to be locked away NOW. These innocent animals did not deserve any of that! I am so touched by the love and care you and the board are giving them. You are all guardian angels. How are the dogs doing that were ill at the time of your first post? Has the vet been able to do much for them? I haven't been able to stop thinking about this. While jail is lovely, it seems like it isn't quite enough. I realize anything more isn't legal, but when you mess with innocent animals, that's crossing a line that should never be crossed!

So far so good - all the sick dogs are showing improvement except for 1 but she isn't doing worse than she was so we can still hope for her recovery.

We have been trying to find foster homes for the dogs we have. The sad part is that we used to save at least 10 dogs a week from "death row" at kill shelters - now those dogs are being put to sleep because there is no place for them to go. We are going to rebuild at a zoned approved location but when karma circles back to this bastard, I want to be there to see it.

Oh my gosh!! This is truly the saddest most inconceivable thing ever. How could anyone cause harm to those sweet innocent animals?! I hope that dirtbag rots in jail for a VERY long time!! What scum! I am happy to hear most of the dogs are showing improvement. So sad for all the other dogs that don't get to be saved by your shelter. My heart goes out to you and all those animals in crisis.
