Just wanted to share that I finally went into labor tonight at eight days overdue. Baby Finn Paul came at 12:46 am at 7lb 12 oz. just in the ninth day overdue.
Since everyone is sleeping but me, here's his birth story. Earlier today I posted that my BP was high and I just wanted them to induce me already. I was contracting off and on since three today. . By six, they were pretty regular. I took a shower to see whether they'd stop but they were still strong. Walking made them even faster. By the time we headed in they were 2-3 minutes apart.
Got to hospital at 8:45 and was only 2 cm and pretty thick. I dilated so quickly with a ton of back labor. My body was also shaking whole time and I was shivering. Got the epi by 11 after them spending an hour trying to get IV in because I was so dehydrated. By 12:46, he was out!
I pushed for 18 minutes but it was rough. Baby had deceleration a with each contraction and they put me on oxygen. Was kind of scary. When they broke my water they also found meconnium. The cord was around his neck loosely. The doctors and nurses were yelling at me to push hard to get him out and the doctor gave me a small episiotomy, which I'm not thrilled about, but understand since baby was in distress. I got him out and the pedis checked his lungs and he hadn't breathed in any meconnium.
Now DH is sleeping and Finn is in my chest. He nursed for over an hour earlier and now he's sleeping, but I can't sleep.
So that's my story since I just gave birth and everyone is sleeping but me! All our pics are on DH's phone so I'll have to add one later. He's a cutie though!
