Every night when I put T to bed, I read him a book and then I turn off the lights and we rock and I sing him a lullaby. And every night, as soon as I sink down in that chair and put his head on my chest, he lets out a big sigh, like this is his favorite part of the day. God, I love this kid!
And for laughs, the other night, T brought me our Old McDonald book to read/sing to him. I started singing it and he got so into it, he was clapping his hands and stomping his feet, dancing like he was at a farmhouse hoe-down. He even was "wagging his tail" like a dog, which is really him just bending over and shaking his head. SO CUTE! Omg he is hilarious. I wish I got it on camera.
DD has been climbing on chairs and the couch- she has figured out how to slide off the couch but our chairs are still too tall for her to get down on her own. So she climbs up on the chairs and screeches like a howler monkey for DH or I to come take her hand and help her climb down. It was cute at first, now I've scooted all the dining chairs in so she can't climb up on them.
Also she's never been cuddly. Recently she has been super cuddly- we will play on the floor and she will come sit on my lap with a book. Or she will come up behind me and lay her head on my shoulder- melts my heart every time.:)
On Thursday night I took off Charlotte's clothes and diaper before bed and she was so happy she danced naked around her room for 10 minutes. She was just so elated that her chance to be naked had finally come. DH and I just laughed and laughed.
The other day when I worked from home my mom came out of the living room with DD to get lunch. My mom went into the kitchen and DD came into the den gave me a HUGE hug then went to follow my mom into the kitchen turned around said BYE and blew me a kiss then went to eat lunch. Nothing earth shattering but it just melted my heart when she did it.
Happiest girl ever. We let her go on like this for about a half hour. I wish I had gotten in front of her - she had the biggest smile! Our house is small and she's and active girl, and where's it's been so cold and wet, she hasn't been outside.
I think Charlie can tell something's wrong with me so lately she's been s gentle and nice. She's never cuddly, but if I sit on the floor with her she just wants to cuddle and give kisses. I love it
I gave DS an ice scraper to hold while I strapped him in the carseat. He said "dis?" so I said "ice scraper". He started trying rub it on his eye and looking confused, saying "eye? Eye?"
B doesn't usually react other than a "hi!" when I come to pick her up from the sitter or get back from an errand. But last week DH said "mommy's home!!" and instead of continuing her play she ran over into my outstretched arms with a big smile. I replay it in my head when I miss her at work.
A couple times now, DD has rubbed her hand down the side of my face. I wasn't sure what she was doing at first, then I realized that I do the same thing to her, often when I'm laying her down. Now I just think it's the sweetest thing when she does it!
Also, when DH and I kiss, she'll go "mmmm" and lean in for a kiss too!
I watch another child and she was sad, so I asked my son to get her monkey (her security item). I never thought he would do it, but sure enough he amazed me and went into the other room, found it and brought it to her. Then he clapped for himself. So cute!
He also said "batman" today which is just plain awesome. It wasn't perfect but it was pretty clear!

This! It makes me feel so warm when Appleseed does this. A couple of weeks ago I walked in the door and she got all excited, ran halfway to me and then turned and climbed into her chair. She doesn't get the opportunity a lot because I usually get her from daycare, and they bring her to me.
When she came running yelling "Momma, Momma, Momma!" the other day I nearly cried. It always makes a hard day melt away. I love her so much!
