Insomnia 12/14 check in

I know it's early for this but who's up lurking the board?!

Jack wakes about every 3-4 hours but never wants to feed! I asked our family dr today about it and she said that's fine till my milk came in. He basically just wants to use my boob as a pacifier/ pillow all the time. I feel we are both destined to be topless and naked forever! He loves skin to skin so much! It's the only thing that soothes him :)

Playing with the idea of moving this coming summer. DH has been looking for a new job for over a year with no luck, so he's stuck in a job he hates. If we can move, I will get paid better and he might be able to go to grad school. He even found a fantastic program at Texas Tech University.

@sventurarn thank you! What are you up to currently?! I'm not sure why I'm wide awake considering at 9 pm I took a Tylenol 3. Gotta love the post birth vag pain!

Oh jeez I can't wait! I am at work for 5 more hours. I'm 37 weeks and starting to get impatient already. Even though I'm sure I'll be one of the January mamas. *sigh*
  • Here with lovely prodromal labor x 2 nights after the epo insertion. Praying there is some cervical change and MW can do a good sweep to get things moving.

  • I'm here. I know, you are so excited. I slipped on f-ing ice in the parking lot of my doctors office on the way into my appt, and spend the whole day in L&D for monitoring. Contractions 4 min apart all damn day without a smidge of activity for the old cervix. FML. We were supposed to confirm induction today but now I have to come in again Monday to make sure all is well. Dammit. I just want to cry all the time. I told DH tonight that I have this constant feeling of "I want to cry" but I'm not sure why... Besides hormones. :-(
Awe that really sucks. I know how you feel about wanting to cry all the time. I think it's just late pregnancy. You just sometimes get a "I can't take this anymore, this baby needs out...something must be wrong with me because my cervix sucks, I'm failing at birthing this child" type of feelings. Try and take it easy until Monday, and then tell that doctor that it's time to get that baby out!

  • Lol @tyedyeme12 I prefer it! Night owl all the way. Its also much more laid back than day shifts. However, I do miss my DH :/
  • My milk just came in this evening. Baby only wakes every 3 ish hours but holy cow, I forgot how the milk feels! I feel like my boobs are in my chin, and I can't figure out how to sleep, nurse, etc with my new endowment...

Yah, my husband works nights and he doesn't mind working the night shift, he just doesn't like the job, and doesn't like leaving me.

I loved living in Texas. Of course I was in north Texas but still it was nice. Hopefully you guys figure something out that works for you guys.
Yah, it seems like something that could really work out for us. Plus, the teaching salary is practically double what it is here in OK.

  • Here, could not get comfy in bed, so left my husband for the couch and a colder room. I hate this not being able to sleep at night. Hubby has been awesome and letting me slack on the house work as we only have a few more days till baby is here. So I sleep at hr- 2 hr naps during the day.

  • I may still be up :) My neck, back, and one hip (the one I landed on) is so sore. I just know tomorrow I'll feel a millions worse. Yaaaaaaay! Lol. And baby movement is not fun anymore. Every movement is like ow, ow, ow. Haha. I find myself pushing on her parts. Like her butt in my ribs - I push it down. She pushes back up. I hold it down. Lol. I've tried to explain to her that she'd have a lot more room if she just came out. She's not listening. Sorry for all the whining. I know that she will definitely be here in less than two weeks but right now - that might as well be nine more months. Ugh.

Did they give you anything to take for your hip? Or just "have a Tylenol"? And yah, I feel like my LO is mad that he's still in there bc he's out of room. He will randomly try to alien out. I try to tell him that's the wrong direction.

  • I'm here....up with these darn contractions that won't get closer than 7-8 mins apart....enough to keep me awake and uncomfortable, but not enough to call L&D. The snowstorm is supposed to start early afternoon here, so I am really hoping things either pick up or completely stall out by the morning.

So sorry you fell! Feel better soon. Def know what you are talking about as well with LO movement. Baby has moved down so my cervix and pubic bone are constantly getting headbutted. However, kicks to my ribs and gallbladder/ liver are just as strong! And baby sticks its foot out so far on my side I swear he or she must have the longest legs, but that's not a trait DH or certainly I possess!
  • I'm here nursing LO. She's been spitting up a bit after so its hard to put her back to bed right away. It makes this a long process. I'm sleepy.

Here, 3 am. Got nothing else. I'm going to the mall today to walk until this baby falls out, or maybe just for an hour. She's getting real snuggly down there and the lightning pains more frequent.

I told DH I wanted to do that too, but the more I think about it, the more I hate that idea... It's a week and a half until Christmas, which means it'll be a zoo. My parents have a treadmill. Maybe I'll try that LOL

I've been holding her upright for 15 mins. after...I think it is helping.
  • I totally know how you feel. Elle has just started to get colicky, and the only thing that gets her to stop crying is comfort nursing. Pacifiers won't have the same effect. On the one hand I love that she relies on me to soothe her, but sometimes I just get so tired and wish we could both just sleep that way.
