Found my dream crib bedding.....and now I'm sad.

I am super picky about my nursery decor. I only want soft, muted colors and something that matches the traditional decor that is throughout the rest of my house. I had a picture in my head of what I wanted and wasn't going to stop until I found it. Well, I found it and, seriously, WTF!!!!!!! This is what I found, and it is exactly what I envisioned...and now I'm bummed. I'm usually one to splurge but even I won't drop this much on crib bedding - even though it is perfect

Damn it!!!!!!!!!

My mom sews and thinks that making crib bedding will be a NBD weekend project....hoping we can find similar fabric.

OMG that is ridiculous! A quick search on etsy for toile crib bedding gives a lot of similar looks in the $150-$250 range. Still pricey but better. How about this one

We've never done a crib bedding set. The only thing we would use would be the sheet and dust ruffle most likely. In fact, my MIL made me a dust ruffle to match the color scheme I was working with. Why not find an Etsy vendor (or your mom if she's a good seamstress) and have her make the pieces that you want. There are plenty of options for soft, muted, solid colored crib sheets (and changing pads) and as many times as ours have been puked/spit up/diaper leaked on I am glad that I didn't spend an outrageous amount of money on them. You can make your nursery look nice, put together and traditional without buying an entire set.

Holy crap that is a lot of $$ for baby bedding that will be used for such a short time.

Look on ebay for it! I see a lot of discontinued bedding sets on there.

Have you checked out Restoration Hardware? Their baby line is pretty muted and soft. And like the others said, you really won't have use for the "set." It looks good in photos but you won't use it. Just get sheets, crib skirt and changing pad cover. set.

Hi - Have you tried babybedding.com? That is where we ordered the majority of our pieces and you can customize colors and fabrics. My only piece of advice would be to know what type of crib you are ordering because you may not be able to actually see a fancy crib skirt and you could save some money. Silly me purchased a beautiful tiered crib skirt and you can't even see it because the sides of our crib come down so low - in retrospect I could have gone with just a solid skirt from BBB or BRU.

Wow, that's a lot. I got PBK bedding for my DD back in 2006 and that was expensive. This time I don't think we'll even buy nursery bedding since bumpers and blankets carry an increased risk of Sids. I guess we'll just do a fitted sheet...lol.

I just got a fitted sheet and a dust ruffle that was removed once we lowered the crib mattress. I'd rethink spending money on items that won't be used. Of course I've spent lots of cash on decor for the nursery and playroom so to each their own I guess!
