When if your first U/S scheduled?

I don't remember getting by first U/S with my last two pregnancies until 12ish weeks. Since I am now in a new state and will have a new doctor, I have no clue what the policy is on the first U/S. I have an intake (paperwork apt on Dec 23 and a basic physical with a PA on Dec 26 but can't get an apt with the OB until late January or early February. My assumption was that I wouldn't have a U/S prior to that time.

When is everyone going to have their first U/S.

Mine will be right around 12 weeks (not yet scheduled). They do 2 for low risk moms in my practice -- the NT scan and the anatomy scan around 20 weeks.

Around here it is between 10-12 weeks for first appointment. Most ultrasounds are around 20 weeks here unless the person is high risk or for dating purposes.

Next week I have my first ultrasound. I'll be exactly 7 weeks. But I only get an early ultrasound because we had to do fertility treatments so there is a good chance of multiples and because of repeat pregnancy losses.

Does your practice do the blood test to check for chromosomal abnormalities (and possibly early sex confirmation) or just skip?

My clinic does a dating u/s between 7-8 weeks. Because I've been charting I know that I'm only around 5 weeks pregnant, but since they won't go by that, they only go by the first day of my last period, I'll technically be getting seen at 6 weeks. Works for me though! This way I get a confirmation baby is there so we can tell our close family at Christmas :-)

Every provider is different. For me not until closer to 20 weeks if I choose to have one at all.

Dating ultrasound at my first appointment Jan. 6. I'll be 9 weeks, but had a long cycle so based on my LMP they will probably think I'm closer to 12 weeks. Should make for an interesting appointment.

My first appt is 1/2 (I'll be 7w). They said they will do a dating ultrasound at that visit. This is a new OB for me because I moved recently.

I have and u/s and blood work on 12/18, I'll be 7 wks. With my last I had 3 - at 7 wks, 21 wks and 30 wks. I think my OB just likes doing them...

Mine is 12/17. I'm 7W and going to a RE. Usually is different times with the people that had IF procedures. Until 12 W I'll go to a regular ob/gyn

My first u/s is thursday i will be 7 weeks. My doctor does 3 u/x in total. The first is to date the pregnancy and make sure there is a heartbeat, the second is around 12 weeks for the screening and the third is around 20 weeks for gender.

I go Tuesday for my initial. I'll be 6 weeks 3 days. He'll do an exam and give me orders for bloodwork. I'm going earlier this time because we need to check my thyroid levels. Usually he doesn't see you until around 8 weeks for the first visit. My OB doesn't do an ultrasound this early unless you're high risk, need dating confirmation, or are having problems.

I will have mine next Friday, at 8 weeks. I already had my first visit where they took blood, and then had blood taken again this week to check hcg levels. They said hcg levels are rising so we are good to go for the ultrasound next Friday!

My insurance only covers one (anatomy scan) 16-20 weeks unless there is a problem. I am always jealous of the ones who get them early!

First appointment at 8 weeks on January 2nd and doc said she will do an ultrasound. First time being pregnant for me.

I have my first appointment at 9 weeks. They were originally going to do a dating ultrasound (I assume because I told them that my LMP wouldn't be accurate - I was charting and knew I ovulated later than normal), but I declined as my husband and I don't think it's necessary. I'm only planning on having the anatomy scan, which I assume is somewhere around 20 weeks. I do think that one is important because you can catch some important problems early enough to plan appropriate interventions after birth. A friend of mind had a child born with a severe heart defect. With the info they knew ahead of time, they were able to have them deliver at a hospital with the expertise required and plan a key surgery not long after birth. The kid is actually doing quite well now. If they hadn't known about the problem ahead of time, who knows what would have happened.

But other than that, no other ultrasounds unless a problem comes up that warrants it.

My first appointment is Jan 13th, I'll be 8 weeks by then and they said they would do my first ultrasound then. They offered to do a confirmation appointment, but I didn't feel like taking time off work to just pee in a cup at the doctor's office.

I don't even get to see my ob until 1/24! Hopefully she'll order my first u/s for a few weeks after that. I know I had one before the 20 week mark with my DS.

I have on at 7-8 weeks. I guess it is a dating ultrasound. I had one at the same time with my DS and that was at a different practice. It gives me peace of mind.

I go tomorrow at 7 weeks. I am only getting this scan so early d/t care under a RE and multiple losses. I have my regular OB visit 1/9 in which I will get another scan. Not sure if I will have another between there. I should also have 12 week NT scan and 20 week scan.
