I'm Being Crazy...This Won't Affect The Baby, Right?

So, I've had a cough since early November.  I had it when we conceived.  It started out as a chest cold and the cough got a little better as time went on, I kept waiting for it to go away.  Today I wake up with a sore throat, stuffy nose, and cough is worse again.

I'm going to the doctor to get checked out.  I just want to be healthy!

Of course, now I'm freaking out thinking that all this sickness will hurt the baby.  I know logically I'm sure I'm fine...I was sick, even had a fever, with my prior pregnancies.  I haven't taken any medication.

So...any one able to give me some reassurance?

To make this not all about me, any silly things you think will hurt the baby when rationally you know they won't?

  • I just realized there's a post about fevers a few threads down from LadyAle...oops!

Well...I'm justifying it because mine is a cough, not a fever!

Every time I strain to go I have a brief (and ridiculous) moment that I'm going to force the baby out too.
EVERYDAY I poop I think the same thing! I'm so scared. :(

    Yep. I do this too.
What's especially bad is if you might have an internal hemorrhoid, and if you strain too much to poop, you bleed a little bit.. yeah, bright red in the toilet does wonders for the nerves! Luckily I know where it's coming from and the cause so I'm not freaking out.  (I think I know the cause - I have a general physical next week anyway, so I'll make sure it's fine)

Oh yeah, I have had hemorrhoids on and off since baby #1.
