Late Term and Child Loss

Frustration and anger

Yesterday was the EDD, I've crying almost everyday the week leading up to this day. However, I was fine yesterday. I took the day off to honor my baby. I'm mad that I didn't cry, and feel that by not crying, I'm not honoring my baby. I miss him everyday, and feel guilty that I didn't make this day special for him.

I'm also frustrated at my body, it has been over 2 months and still no AF. Of course my body is back to its normal self, not working properly. Maybe I'm just in a slump or is this part of grieving?

Re: Frustration and anger

  • Don't beat yourself up about not crying yesterday - the anticipation of hard days is often worse then the day itself, that is normal. The week leading up to my EDD was very rough and I expected the day itself to be really hard, but it wasn't. I think I was all cried out by that point. ((Hugs))

For me, the weeks leading up to her EDD and then her angelversary were much harder than the actual day. I cried leading up, but did not necessarily cry on the day of. It doesnt mean you dont love him.

Also, 6-10 weeks is normal before AF returns. I was on the long end and had to wait 13 weeks.

  • don't be mad at yourself...you are doing the best you can.  like PP's said the actual day is no where near as intense as the days leading up...and crying for him doesn't mean you don't love him...and HE KNOWS THAT.  I felt like my EDD was half sad and half happy- celebrating her life.

AF didn't come back for 10 weeks for me after my second loss at 8 weeks...sometimes your body just needs a little time to adjust and get back to normal.  Call your OB if 12 weeks pass and no AF...or call now just for peace of mind.
