Belly Button Troubles

Has anyone's belly button not gone back to normal? Mine is still half out, and I remember when I showed my doctor at my 6week visit she said something like 'oh that will go back to how it was in time'. Is this true? Seems like 8months is plenty of time for a belly button to do its thing. TIA for any replies!

Apologies if it says I'm like a year and a half pregnant, I have only been mobile since my second trimester...

Re: Belly Button Troubles

  • Mine is still weird and stretched out a little. It does seem like 8 months should be long enough, not sure I believe mine will ever be normal again but my sister swears it will.

  • Thanks, at least I'm not alone in that. All my real life mom friends claim to have normal belly buttons (and our babies are all around the same age).

  • Mine is still funky too!!

Do this... sit on the floor or in a backless chair... lean back like a halfway sit up and the center vertical line of your stomach. Does it feel like there's a great divide or even a bulge (like a hernia) where the muscles should be in the center? It's really common, but there's a few links on this site that will give you some tips for exercise to get it back. I'm convinced that's why my belly button is still floppy. Yes, floppy.

Like I have TIME for exercise, but here it goes... happy crunching!

  • Mine is also still a little odd and stretched out.  I thought it would be back to normal too, but super happy to hear I am not alone. :)

Ugh I totally have this I think. It doesn't really feel separated standing up, but when I lean back there is a giant bulge. :(
