should I change LOs naps and bedtime?

Right now her schedule goes like this:
9am wake up
11am 1st nap
12pm wake up
2pm last nap
3pm wake up
9pm bedtime

I noticed she is starting to get sleepy around 6pm, I know its a 5-6 hour gap between 3-9 but I noticed that if I put her down for a nap later than 4, she stays up all night. Should I change her bedtime and change her nap times? I just want her to have fun and be energetic, not tired all day. I would love your schedules and advice, thanks!

Re: should I change LOs naps and bedtime?

  • You could just try to move bedtime back to 7-8pm?  If she is sleepy around 6pm....and then you don't put her to bed for another 3 hours?

This is our newest schedule - we just got rid of the pacifier and he has transitioned to 1 nap a day so things have been a little off.

    7-7:30am wake up

9:30am try for a morning nap

    12:30/1pm afternoon nap

    ~2pm wake up from nap

~6:30/6:45pm start bedtime routine, in bed by 7-7:15.

  • If overnight sleep from 9p-9a works for you, then you don't need to change it.  Can you push back nap 2 by 30-60 minutes?  Seems awfully short wake time between the 2 naps (only 2 hours?).  DS wake time between naps is 3-3.5 hrs.

A 9am wake-up doesn't work for us in our household.  Our schedule is:

    6:45-7a wake up
9:30-10a down for first nap; nap for 1-1.5 hrs
2:30pm'ish down for 2nd nap; nap for 1.5-2 hrs
    8:15-8:30pm bedtime

  • LO sleeps 9pm to 9am all night. The shedule works for us because DH comes home at a certain time from work and this gives us the opportunity to eat dinner as a family, DH bonds with DD giving her a bath, and we have time to all play together as a family. Putting her down earlier would give us less family time :(

  • If I put her 2nd nap at 3-4pm that would mean she would be uo 4pm to 9pm, is that still too much of a gap?
