Re: GTKY Friday the 13th Edi. (Courtesy of Healz413!)
There are many other things about M that I hope our kids develop but that's the one that comes most easily to mind where there is a big diff between M and me.
2. Alias. Veronica Mars. Bones. (Yup, I like strong female leads and action!)
3. A red pickup truck. From the time I was a kid and long before I knew I was a d.yke or that pickups might be something d.ykes were associated with, I have wanted one. I won't get one while we love in the city, but if we lived in the country and had anything to haul in the back, I'd totally get one!
4. I was a horrible athlete. I had no natural skills. I couldn't hit a ball at all and was pretty awkward. I'm still not a particularly graceful athlete but I'm definitely a jock.
5. I would have a screened in all season back porch with floor to ceiling windows. (I'm not sure exactly how it would work but it would be designed so that it would be pretty easy to have it be screens or storm windows at any given time (not a big installation every time the seasons changed). There would be a hammock, a small day bed, and a small table with chairs.
I would also have a cozy living room with overstuffed arm chairs (one of which would be a "chair and a half") and a comfy couch. They would all be around a large, wood burning fireplace and there would be a large bay window with a window seat.
I would also have a large kitchen with an island in it. There would be two double sinks one in the island and in the main counter space (a prep sink and a dishes sink). There would be tall chairs with backs at the island. There would be either two stove tops or a extra large stove top. Two ovens. The counters would be higher than normal so I could work at them comfortable. The fridge/freezer would have an ice maker and cold water dispenser. There would be big windows in the kitchen. Oh and I had have one of those pot/pan hanging things over the island for easy pan access.
We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.
Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.
Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response
IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
1st ultrasound (3/6 6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.

@healz413 Can I come over to your dream house? I'll bring our truck and you can joyride while I use your kitchen to cook in!
1. Discipline. S has more discipline than anyone I've ever met. I am not exactly the polar opposite, but I'm close. I really hope Gabe is disciplined about schoolwork, and about cleanliness/organization. Aside from that, I hope his wit develops like S's. I can only dream of how hilarious it's going to be around the house once he shows a sense of humor.
2. Don't judge ... So You Think You Can Dance, Criminal Minds, Parenthood
3. I'm not really a car person, but for some reason I've always been drawn to the Audi A4. Will I ever own it? Not a chance. And these days, honestly, I'd rather have a Prius. I think that if/when they ever are able to come out with a 4-wheel drive hybrid sedan (yeah right) that can handle a MN winter, I might see if I can swing it.
4. My friend's Mom referred to me as "Boy crazy." And I was.
5. Room 1 - A totally babyproofed, large, comfortable play room FILLED with toys and structures to climb on. Carpeted so that Gabe's head doesn't crack against the floor every time he falls.
Room 2 - Actually 2 rooms, with a double door in between, 1 side will be bare and open for dogs to run and play in. Carpeted with that indoor/outdoor stuff so they don't slip but can't really ruin it either. This room should be a walk-out to a fenced in yard. Maybe it would have some agility/obstacle equipment in there. On the other side of the double door is a carpeted room filled with cat trees and shelves way up high for kitties to play in and feel safe. When we want them to interact, the double doors are open. When the cats need time to themselves, we close the doors.
Room 3 - Not really a room, but a wraparound porch. At least some of it should be screened in. It should connect directly to the kitchen in back, and there should be some sort of pass-through as well. There should be room for sit-down meals for 12 on this porch, and there should be a grill of some kind, preferably both charcoal and gas. And a bar.
I love daydreaming. Thanks @2MamazInSeattle!

FET #1 December 2014
1. What is a quirk/personality trait/quality of your partner or another family member that you hope your (future or current) kid/s will pick up on?
I hope that our kids have my wife's silly sense of humor and creativity!
2 What are your top 3 favorite TV shows of your adult life?
3. Have you ever coveted a type of car/vehicle? If so, what is it? Have you ever owned it or do you think you will?
I covet vehicle all the time, and seem to always be changing my mind about what my dream car would be. Something luxurious with a heated leather interior and lot of fun bells and whistles. A cross-over SUV is my favorite style. I think maybe an Audi or Infiniti small SUV might be my current dream car. Definitely have never owned one, but hopefully some day I will (even if it is after kids are grown!).
4. Tell us something about what you were like as a child that "knowing" you know now we'd find hard to believe.
I was super shy. I didn't "find my voice" until I was 16 or 17, and didn't really become more confident until college. I was definitely the quiet kid around most people (less so at home and with my siblings, but more so in school and in public situations). Most people that know me know find this hard to believe, as I am pretty outspoken and confident when it comes to expressing my opinions, etc.
5. Describe 3 rooms in your ideal/fantasy house/home.
Me - 30, My wife - 31 , Together for 10 yrs - Married August 2012
5 medicated IUIs w/ RE (March - July 2013) = BFN

3. Have you ever coveted a type of car/vehicle? If so, what is it? Have you ever owned it or do you think you will?
I have always wanted a new Mustang or even a classic like a 69 Mustang that has been restored.
4. Tell us something about what you were like as a child that "knowing" you know now we'd find hard to believe.
5. Describe 3 rooms in your ideal/fantasy house/home.
2. Sex and the City. The Wire. And in college I used to love watching Martha Stewart Living (the old one that isn't on anymore, not the one with the studio audience). Could those be more different?
3. You know, I am not much of a car person and I don't aim that high. I want to feel safe and comfortable and to like the way a car looks, but I don't care that much about luxury brands. As an adult, I've always liked Subarus -- they just "fit" me, and I like having AWD in our climate. And yes, we have two.
4. I was VERY shy, but I'm not that outgoing now --I'm not sure whether that comes across on this board or not.
5. a) A spa room with a big whirlpool tub, heated lounge chairs and a nice view (maybe of the ocean?). And a massage table for when my massage therapist comes over.

I really hope our kid is creative - either skilled or not skilled (painting/drawing vs. crafts) - but that they like to make things. We both have an eye for art and I hope our kid has a bit of that - esp. since we are double-donor for our kids.
2 What are your top 3 favorite TV shows of your adult life?
This is hard! Here are 3 but there are probably another 10! But if I was locked up and got the box set of 3 shows, I think I'd pick these:
BSG (that's BattleStar Galactica - the recent series not the one from the 70s)
Breaking Bad
West Wing
3. Have you ever coveted a type of car/vehicle? If so, what is it? Have you ever owned it or do you think you will?
I'm not a big car whore but I do sometimes wish for a BMW, but J said she'd never be with someone who drove a beamer! HAHA! Sure, if I won the lottery I might get one, but honestly it's not ever been the most important thing to me. I need bluetooth, satellite radio, heated seats and mirrors, and a few other bells/whistles, and I'm good.
4. Tell us something about what you were like as a child that "knowing" you know now we'd find hard to believe.
I went "visiting" most every day of the summer to 3 or 4 old ladies in my small town for years and years. I'd just talk to them, though sometimes we'd play cards or do crafts. When I 'aged out' my sister took over with them - and when she aged out, our baby sister took on "the route"! So those ladies got a good 8 years of visits from me and 2 of my sisters (one sister wasn't into it).
Although I realize this may not be terribly surprising.
5. Describe 3 rooms in your ideal/fantasy house/home.
I would love a huge swank kitchen with a double oven, 6 gas burner stovetop, prep sink, dishwasher with the drawers that blend into the cabinetry, same with the fridge - the kind that blends into the cabinets. Ideally with an eating nook or bar in the center. I'd love a bathroom with an infared sauna, jetted tub and 6-head shower, a Japanese toilet with a heated, puffy seat, dual sinks and lots of storage. And third...I dunno, I guess a bigger bedroom so we could have a king bed plus some seating for putting on clothes.
And...PIP's are always fun/welcome for a bonus!
Here's Manny playing on his cat tree!
Me (43) and J (45) - same sex couple. And we don't feel 40+!
June'12 - First RE Visit
Sept. '12 - Tubes removed
Dec. '12 - Donor Egg/Donor Sperm IVF Cycle - 4 good embies!
Dec. '12 - Fresh transfer, BFP! EDD 8/29/13
Mar. '13 - Missed m/c at 16w1d, baby boy stopped growing at 15w4d
Loss due to umbilical cord clot...baby was perfect.
Jul '13 - FET#1 - c/p
Sept. '13 - FET#2 - BFN
Dec.' 2, 2013 - FET#3 with our last chance embie - BFP!!!
Dec' 26, 2013 - hb!!
EDD 8/20/14 with a baby girl!
Little S was born on 8/21/14 - 8lb, 14 oz and 20 inches long.
We live in Seattle and used SRM for our donor egg IVF cycle
2. LOST, Heros and currently I'm like Orange is the New Black, and Game of Thrones. I have a lot more than those really. And I love Netflix so I can watch a show all in a row back to back (I hate having to wait a week!!)
3. To be honest I'd need to refer to my wife on this one. I'd love a brand new really nice mini van though to pack the kids in :-)
4. I think I was very much a little me - quieter to a degree and maybe possibly sillier... I used to have a really vivid imagination and could literally picture myself in different places, or time periods complete with "period people in costume, etc." I think its one reason I love writing fiction (not that I have or give myself time), I love escaping into another world. Same goes for reading. I wrote several books before I turned 11 or 12 (mini books, but a couple 100 pages) about being a wolf, an adventure in Cleopatra's time...
5. I'd love any of the houses described thus far - please!! A large room with floor to ceiling windows and an indoor modern infinity edge pool would be great. A huge master bedroom with sitting area and en-suite bathroom with all the bells and whistles, soaking tub, large shower with overhead rain shower head and radiant floor heating throughout the house. Finally a playroom with built in wooden play structures, forts, and all the creative wooden, natural toys an eco mama could dream of. (And for EV an arts & craft room that could make Martha Stewart envious). Ok, now that I've described the whole house....
2. Sons of Anarchy is my #1. The Real L Word and Dexter, though I stopped watching a few seasons ago and still have not finished the series.
3. A black Chevy Silverado 4-wheel drive truck with brush guards on the tail lights and across the front. About a 2003-2004 to be specific. I have wanted one since I was about 10 years old. My neighbor (and ex-boyfriend) had one that I drooled over. He was always convinced I loved the truck more than him...this was true
4. I grew up as an only child. I was quiet, very reserved and preferred to be alone. Thanks to C, I'm not really like that anymore.
5. Room 1 - a huge master bedroom with moose antler furniture. I would want a thick, plush carpet and wood walls. I would keep our current bed, which is made of logs. I would want sliding glass doors that opened to a porch and a sky light.
Room 2 - a play room for our future LOs. Nice and big to hold all their stuff. I would go with an outdoor/woodsy theme because that fits us. Maybe have a rock climbing wall.
Room 3 - a spacious living room with our current tv and bed size couches to relax on. I would have a huge picture window that would look out into the woods.
Bonus PIP - our rental from this past summer.
Me: 30 DW (aka C): 29
Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

11/14/14 - Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.
12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2
12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

****All Welcome!****
We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.
1. What is a quirk/personality trait/quality of your partner or another family member that you hope your (future or current) kid/s will pick up on? I really hope my kids will one day pick up on my S/O's "out going ness". she knows no stranger and i love that about her, she can keep a convo with anybody. while me on the other hand am shier than shy.
2 What are your top 3 favorite TV shows of your adult life? South beach tow:p, Lost, and stars
3. Have you ever coveted a type of car/vehicle? If so, what is it? Have you ever owned it or do you think you will? I really want a little Toyota tacoma (red). My dad goes through cars like no tomorrow just because he gets bored so he'll trade his current one in for something different. And he once had this little red toyota tacoma and i loved that car. a little over a year ago now i bought a brand new 2013 for focus so after that gets paid off here in the next 4 years, and then ill prob have it for a good couple years til things start falling apart then i will def be getting my tacoma.
4. Tell us something about what you were like as a child that "knowing" you know now we'd find hard to believe.
5. Describe 3 rooms in your ideal/fantasy house/home. Big Bathroom with 2 sinks, a walk in shower and a jacuzzi! I would love to have a movie room with really nice recliners and a bar and a huge screen. as well as a billiard room. My S/O is a beast at pool and we play all the time, so it would cool to have one in home!
And...PIP's are always fun/welcome for a bonus!
We Finally got our stockings up last night after completing our shopping! We still need to get the tree up, which we will do tonight but better late than never! (excuse the messy fireplace!)

1. What is a quirk/personality trait/quality of your partner or another family member that you hope your (future or current) kid/s will pick up on?
C is so kind and funny and silly! I want our kids to be silly and imaginative and really love life!
2 What are your top 3 favorite TV shows of your adult life? Oh geez...I'm watch so much TV...I know...it's awful...but I love TV. My top three favorite shows would probably be: 1 Dollhouse 2. Heroes 3. I really enjoy BAD reality TV so maybe Real Housewives
3. Have you ever coveted a type of car/vehicle? If so, what is it? Have you ever owned it or do you think you will? I have always wanted a truck. When I used to work at camp I got to drive the camp truck a lot and I LOVED it. Now that we are trying to grow our family we will probably never buy one but I wouldnt mind having one!
4. Tell us something about what you were like as a child that "knowing" you know now we'd find hard to believe.
This is not something I am very proud of but I was a real bully...like a funny, poking fun bully...I'm still pretty sarcastic but I now facilitate training on bully prevention so I would like to say I've learned
5. Describe 3 rooms in your ideal/fantasy house/home.
1. HUGE jacuzzi tub, separate waterfall shower, double sink and lots of storage in the bathroom with a vanity.
2. Massive kitchen with lots of room and all the necessary gadgets and bells and whistles.
3. A master suite (attached to the above mentioned bathroom) with a king bed, a large sitting area and a workout space.
Is that too much to ask? ;-)
And...PIP's are always fun/welcome for a bonus!
We just finished decorating C's parents tree...it is a big tradition in their house!

1. Alright, I admit it... I'm a bit uptight. I like things a certain way and feel a little discomfort when they aren't. Z is the opposite (just one of the reasons she is so good for me). Very little ruffles her feathers and she is as silly as they come. I really, really hope our son picks that up from her.
2. Gosh... Friends, Modern Family, and Scandal are what immediately come to mind.
3. Nah. Cars aren't my thing. Just give me something that is safe and reliable. I do plan to upgrade my next vehicle for something bigger and with more safety features than my current vehicle. Just don't know what yet
4. I was extremely feisty with my parents and siblings. Like scratch my sister in the face and throw hot pizza at my brother kinda feisty.
5. Big kitchen that is open to a nice sized family space. Lots of counter space and cabinet storage, white cabinets and round family table. Window that looks out to our yard.
Not a room, but I want a big yard (and the money to pay someone to maintain it) for Bama and our kids to run around in.
Awesome master bathroom suite. Any of the bathrooms described above sound perfect.
Fun questions.
