Good morning everyone!
I have been lurking for sometime reading everyone's stories and thought it was about time I introduce myself. It still is a hard pill to swallow realizing this isn't going to be an easy road for us. A little bit about my background. Me and DH were married in 6/2012. We were in no rush for a family, we were in the process of building a house together. Beginning in August of 2012 I began to have cycles that started with 5-7 days of spotting, very strange for me, I had regular 30-32 day cycles for years. Along with this strange spotting I would get this awful ache/pinching/cramping through the entire month. In November 2012 I finally made an appointment with my regular OB/GYN, she wasn't overly concerned and said it was stress. However, something didn't seem right to me so I made an appointment to get a second opinion. This doctor scheduled me for a ultrasound that same day.
When we went in, the tech said right away that something didn't look right. I had a very thick lining (I was new to this and didn't ask how thick), she said it was something she only saw in women in their mid 40's going through early menopause. I was like " Great, thanks for sharing that news". They followed with a HSG? to make sure it wasn't a polyp, or anything like that, and there wasn't.
Doctor came in and said based on spotting and thickness she expected I had unexpectedly stopped ovulating sometime over the summer and that was the cause of the thick lining. She also wanted to do a biopsy to rule out anything major. Biopsy came back normal and she put me on a round of provera to thin out the lining.
When we came back, my lining was thinner. She recommended that we start sooner rather than later trying because she felt we would have a long road ahead of us with the thickening and lack of ovulation for several straight months. I was crushed, we were in the middle of building a house ourselves and I was under a lot of pressure at work, mentally I just wasn't ready, we just got married. Further more we lived in this very tiny one bedroom apartment.
Its funny how when you are told you can't have something and it makes you want it more then ever! Yep.... there I was.
She then recommended alternating months of birth control to "restart" my system into ovulating again. We agreed to give it a try and just take things as it went. She also wanted to transfer us to a doctor who had more experience with IF before we went to an RE. She hoped either with alternating months on BC or clomid we would have success.
Fast forward a few months and we are with our new doctor. His first course of action was to take me off birth control and see if it worked in "restarting" everything. The first few months were great. I would get + opks, crazy strong ovulation pain, even spotting during ovulation. I went in for one scan to monitor my lining (it was still thin) tech said I had a big follie and everything was looking great. No BFP ever came. July 2013 came and all my old symptoms reared their ugly head including ones related to LPD. I was now ovulating on day 21 and starting just 5 days later.
Went back to the doctor and he conducted a Day3 testing to rule out PCOS. Everything came back fine. The next step was to D21 which came back at 11.5, he said low but confirmed ovulation. I would come back next month to check the thickening. Surprise, surprise it was back thicker then ever. He said between 18-19. He felt it could be why we weren't having any luck combined with the LPD. I felt like a crazy person, I just sobbed in his office. At this point I wanted to be pregnant more than ever.
So here we are. First round of Clomid was a fail. On the C14 scan I had no mature eggs. Never got a positive opk. No CM nothing! Doc said we would up the dose next month and he was going to talk about our case with the RE in his office and move us there after the next cycle. He felt IUI might be the best option for us. I am scared to death. We spent our savings on our new house and our insurance doesn't cover anything. Not even my progestorne or clomid.
My DH has been great but I don't think any of this is real for him yet. When doc mentioned the RE, he was like already? He thinks things will happen on their own. GRRR.... I am currently in the 2ww for CD1 for my next round of clomid.
Why am I here? I need support.. my friends all have been super fertile along with my family. They keep telling me to relax and let it happen. It just upsets me even more

Re: Introduction.... New to TTTC (Long background... sorry)
I am very sorry you find yourself here, I am new here too, but these ladies have been nothing but great to me. They answer my questions and never make me feel stupid for asking them. It sounds like its been a rollercoaster so far, and I hope that it gets easier for you very soon. I just looked up a book that another lady had posted on here, "what he should expect when she's not expecting" for DH, and I am looking into that as a stocking stuffer, it might be worth a look for you too. You have come to a great place for support... I hope your stay here is short!
hugs!

It gets said a lot around these parts, but an RE really is the true expert at getting women pregnant. When I started to see my RE, I felt very well cared for. He made a plan for me and his well-trained staff makes sure each tiny piece of the plan is executed correctly. Just having that RE appt under my belt made me feel so much better.
Good luck this cycle! Hope your stay here is short and sweet.

All Are Welcome!!
I'm sorry you find yourself here but welcome to our wonderful group! I don't have any friends or family that have ever had to go through IF either so I was very happy to find this board. It sounds like you have had a rough time & I think you will feel better once you meet with an RE to get some answers & a plan in place. IUI's may sound scary but they are really pretty simple. I was terrified for my first one but now that I have had 4, it's no longer a big deal.
It took my DH awhile to come to the realization that we needed help as well. He kept saying it would eventually happen & that I needed to stop stressing about it. He doesn't realize I was already 35 by the time we saw an RE! Anyway, he eventually came around & now he is my rock. He is the one I go to for everything & this whole IF journey has actually brought us closer.
Best of luck to you. You picked the right place to come for support. We are all here for you:)
