One of my sisters is works in a daycare. She gets so many gifts. Ornaments, giftcards and sweets are usually her favourite.
My other sister runs a home daycare and she usually gets a weeks worth of pay as a bonus although one parent gives gift cards to a local restaurant and movie passes.
Years ago I worked daycare and now I work as an EA and like the teachers we always get so much stuff from the students. A few years ago we agreed as a staff that we would rather see it go to a childrens charity So the school sent home a note saying that if parents were planning to puchase teachers gifts (because most do) to please donate the money to ___________.
I plan on doing the same now that my DS is in school and for my DD1 who goes to preschool 2 days a week. I think I will buy a box of chocolates for them to share at work and attach a note saying A donation for x amount in your honor for the great job you do every day is being made to _____________. It will likely be a charity like Sleeping Children.
I think Im going to do a Target gift card otherwise I was debating a gift card to a new restaurant in town. It was her bday last month and I debated getting her something but decided to just wait and do something nicer for Xmas since they are so close together.
I think I'm going to do a basket of cookies, candy, coffee, that kind of stuff. he spends his time in two different rooms, and has a lot of different providers. It would be too hard not to miss someone if I did individual gifts. I actually think I'm going to bring it in by the middle of next week, before they get bombarded.
I sent a holiday gift basket from Harry and David. There are 3 main workers but sometimes up to 5 so I was unsure about gift-cards. I didn't plan it this way but it arrived there tonight, just in time for their Christmas party with Santa tomorrow.
