Are you trying to encourage one hand over the other? Both DH and I are right-handed. I assumed my children would be also, but DS1 is very much showing me otherwise. Even as a baby, he always tended to reach for things left handed, but now as he's gotten older it's become more and more pronounced, despite our efforts to always encourage the right over the left. I don't know why I'm so focused on him being right handed.. I guess because I am, and I don't really know how to teach a lefty how to write? The only person I know that's left handed was an old BF of mine years ago.. I remember watching him write and it looked so difficult! He used to curl his arm around and almost write upside down.. Anyway, I've stopped trying to encourage him to switch and he pretty
much does everything left. Holds a spoon/fork.. holds a crayon.. etc.
Oh well.

I've been told they can switch back and forth up until they're 5.
