Do you ever read posts on baby center...

...and think to yourself how thankful you are that most of the stupid seems to be over there and not on TB?

Every time I Google something that I don't want to ask here, it seems like I end up on a BC post that makes me wonder howTF these people are even smart enough to get on a message board in the first place. And then I fear for their spawn.

  • haha. Yeah, I get there from googling things all the time. But I google boring things about baby gear and stuff, so I don't see that much stupid.

  • True story: One time I ended up on their forums and found DD's BMB...I was amazed to find some of the same people posting over there that posted on the Bump...It was very strange...

  • I used to post regularly on a Baby Center board that specialized in just molar pregnancies, which was a great resource for me - but even there, we had that one village idiot.

She went against her specialist's recommendation to wait before TTC again and got pregnant immediately. When a newbie would post and ask for advice, like, "My doctor says I have to wait for a year. Is this the norm for everyone?" the village idiot would come out of nowhere and advocate for disregarding doctors' orders and just doing whatever you wanted. Eventually, one of the founding members of the board put her in her place and there was a huge dramatic ordeal over it, and it resulted in her getting banned or doing a GBCB-sort of exit. I can't remember which.

  • I joined the BMB on babycenter first and quickly signed off on the whole idea. At 13 weeks when we were going through additional genetic testing I found thebump and lurked cautiously for a few weeks. So glad I did and found you ladies. The level of stupid on babycenter had seriously diminished my hope in humanity! Just wish I had found this board at the start. I know I missed out!

  • Only when I google a question and end up over there. I've never gone over there purposely.

  • I've never actually read anything from the message boards on BC... I'm not sure that I was even aware there were message boards... Looks like I found some new entertainment!
