Personally I have a rule about not getting or giving vaccines to my kids that haven't been around for at least ten years, because of things like this. (i think gardasil is approaching that if not already passed it) I'm always skeptical about anything before I see enough evidence to back it up.
What say you bump researchers?

Re: HPV vaccinations
I definitely think no matter what, always do your own research. I also know that things around longer than when they are released. However I want to see a long line of humans with no reaction before I trust it completely.
By the time our girls are of age to get it we should know more about it's safety and efficacy.
That being said- has anyone thought if getting their son the guardisil vaccine? I'm having a boy and I would want to protect him as much as I would a daughter. Just curious why the onus is in the girl to get the vaccine when it takes 2 to tango- so to speak. Men can suffer from HPV side effects just like women.
3 years ago dr re-did the series. Already had a dangerous strain, so it really never helped. There has been research that says if you have already been exposed, vaccinating might aggravate it. Not sure either way.
I ended up with 4 colpos and 2 leeps. DH and I do not want our daughter vaccinated with the conflicted info out that is out there now. It might change in the next 10 years, who knows.

My son will be getting vaccinated.

Just to add to the boy recommendation: A woman I used to work with had her youngest son go away to college last year. That being said, one of the mandatory vaccinations, before entering his college of choice, was the HPV vaccination.
Thanks for not making me preach. I work for a generic pharmaceutical manufacture and have worked for name brand pharma. Generics are held to the same standards as name brand. The reason they are less expensive is because they don't have to go through the development and clinical trials as the name brands. The development of the drugs is why they cost so much. (Guess I ended up preaching)
