frozen diapers

We keep our diaper pail out in the garage.  Because 1. the nursery and adjoining bathroom are quite small and 2. I don't like the odor.  However lately since the weather has gotten so cold, some of our diapers have froze.  I bring the pail inside and let them get to room temp. before I wash them.  I was wondering if this could damage them in any way?  I would really like to keep them out there, but if I am strongly advised to bring them in I could try to find another spot.

    Doubt it would hurt the fibers/inserts. Maybe the PUL if anything but I wouldn't think so.

    I think continually having the PUL freeze will damage it. What kind of smell? My pail is open…and no smell unless your face is in the pail liner

    Yeah, I was thinking that the PUL might not take well to the freezing.  We started off having the pail in the nursery but it started to smell terribly (both with a lid and without).  However, that was when we were having a microfiber/HE washer problem with getting the diapers clean (they stank even when clean).  I wonder if the smell would be less offensive now that we switched to cotton prefolds and have a good washing routine.

    It also can't be that good for the elastic.

    I agree, what smell. My toddler diapers don't smell. Are you leaving the bag open? Is it barnyard?

    I don't see a ticker... But since DS started solids his poop is rank. I spray bac out after using the diaper sprayer, and no issues. So his room doesn't smell like poop now.
