Nuby soft spout sippy cup?

DD seems to suddenly hate her Avent magic trainer sippy cups. For the past several weeks, she won't even take one sip out of it...just throws it on the floor. We have also tried the Dr. Brown's sippy cup and she hates that even more. Seeing as that she's 11 months tomorrow and rapidly approaching the end of bottle drinking, I want to find a sippy cup she'll actually drink out of. So, a few Nuby soft spout questions:

1) Are all the Nuby soft spout sippy cups on the market now BPA-free? Or do I have to look for ones that specifically say so on the packaging (assuming BPA-free ones do exist)?

2) Do you use the ones with the handles or no?

I'm also considering the Born Free sippy cup, but they are so farkin' expensive!

  • Yes, the Nuby cups are BPA-free.  They make soft and hard spout sippies.  DS will take a sippy with or without handles, but he has a much easier time with the handles.  I like the ones with the handles on the cup, rather than the lid...I think they leak less.

  • I don't know the answer for your first question but we do use the sippy cup with the handles.

  • I believe all the Nuby sippys are BPA free. DS uses either the nuby soft spot, without handles, or I also bought some of the 5 oz toss and go ones, which have worked great because they are smaller and easier for him to use.
