From Pea to Pumpkin...love it or hate it?

I was so excited to the "From Pea to Pumpkin" pregnancy journal, but I have to say, I leave most of it blank. I can't stand the vague questions like "I feel (blank) and (blank) when I (blank). Like what should I put there? I feel PROUD and SUCCESSFUL when I POOP? I dunno, just wishing I had done a pregnancy journal. Might try one for third trimester.

Sorry, should have explained it. It's a free pregnancy journal you can get sent to you. It has questions and fill in the blanks for each week

I don't think I've opened it since the day it got to my house. It was buried during the move and I totally forgot about it. I wasn't too fond of it anyways.

My mom got me a pregnancy journal last time. I wrote on like two pages and then gave up- it just seemed like a waste of time for me since I didn't sit around contemplating my feelings on pregnancy a lot.

I'm not familiar with this one, but I've done Amy Krouse's "The Belly Book" for each pregnancy and I love the format

I liked it until I got to those questions!! If this is supposed to be a keepsake for the baby then I'm not writing about that!!

I loved when it asked what baby daddy and I disagree on. I wrote "everything" that way she'll understand if it doesn't work out between us haha

I hate the open ended questions too!!! I feel like what I have put in there so far I'm gonna look back on and think, why did I waste my time. I wanted to do a baby scrapbook that incorporates the pregnancy and then becomes his baby book. It's still all in my head lol. 6 months of feelings and thoughts all just waiting to be written in a cute scrapbooky way!

Confused... My wording keeps disappearing!

Sorry for the lightbulb above lol. What I was TRYING to say was I had no idea that's why I kept getting the damn scholarship junk mail! Makes sense now

I love it. It was free!! Plus, I like the prompts. Sometimes they are vague, but sometimes specific. I like that because I am not just writing the same stuff every week!

I also like that it is a short journal and only takes about 15 min a week to fill out. I sometimes write notes in the margins (started feeling movement, hubs felt movement from outside, baby has now given me carpal tunnel and I have to wear braces on my arms).

I write it in it, but I feel the same way you do most the time. This is a pointless fill in the blank week. I would have rather had blank spots to write in a memory or something. Definitely not something I will pass down to my kids for them to read.

I really hate it. I was super excited about it at first but the whole fill-in-the-blank/writing prompt style, no thank you. As far as the junk mail, nothing in life is ever truly free

I think I was 7 weeks along when I got it... I couldn't bring myself to write in it because I've have two 1st tri losses and I kept thinking of how much it would suck if I started filling it in and then loose the baby and have the painful reminder laying around and then have to throw it out.. So I waited until 13-14 weeks before I touched it. But it's not very fun.. because the whole point of why journals exist is so you can remember the past and also so that future generations can read about your life experiences. I don't want my great grandkids to happen upon it only to read that I "think doing kegels is annoying" or "I feel an increase in my sex drive."

I write in it every week but scratch a lot out or pass it off to DH and just write something like Daddy wanted a turn... I basically just use it to keep track of what's going on during that week

I like it. Sometimes I feel stumped by the open-ended questions, but at least it gets me thinking. I would never keep up on a regular journal, so I'm glad to have something to guide me so I can at least have some sort of written record. Plus, DH loves to peek at my answers which is really cute.

I love that I don't have to think about it to fill it in. Sure, there are spaces that I've left blank and some I've crossed out to write what I wanted but, all in all, its an easy way for me to journal about this pregnancy.

I hadn't ever heard of that! I wonder if I would have wanted one now! Haha but I do keep a regular journal and since week 18 I have been doing a weekly update on my blog with a few questions about my pregnancy and symptoms, just for memories and to remind myself how sick and miserable I was so next time I can mentally prepare myself before getting pregnant

This. It absolutely drives my husband nuts, since he usually checks our mail. You can buy them without doing the scholarship thing though. Think I'll go that route for my next baby.

Oh, the very first thing I did when I found out I was pregnant was go out and buy a really nice journal. I don't write in it all the time, just when something I feel like is significant happens. So I keep both. I like pizza pumpkin to catch all those little thoughts and make sure I'm writing something down regularly. But I use the big journal to write my essays.
