  • LOLOLOLOLOL

I'm definitely fluorite, may be a diamond, but only eat food blessed by vegan unicorns, so that might make me a topaz.

    That was AWESOME! =D>

  • I LOVE this blog. She is hilarious.
  • Lol, this was great! I'd say I'm more of an apatite, but I have a few things in the more crunchy categories. I'm having my placenta encapsulated, but I'm delivering at a hospital. I wish I we're crunchy enough to do a home birth or make my own baby food, but I don't see those happening.

  • I thought that was really funny, but honestly, I dont like how she ended. (with the diamond description.) I'm not sure what it was exactly, but how she was going along in obvious increasing degrees of "crunchiness" and then for the big finale it's just like "you do what you want and dont care about others' opinions." I'm not sure why, that just not only rubbed me the wrong way, but I thought it in too much contrast to the rest of the amusement of the post.

See, I thought her point at the end was that you did the things that made sense for you for their own benefit NOT because of trying to "impress" other moms or to keep up with what you're "supposed" to do type things. If that makes sense.  It definitely wasn't as lighthearted as the rest, but I thought it a good point. Doing all that crunchy stuff is fine/dandy but don't do things if the only reason you're doing it is because you think you're supposed to, or all your friends do, or whatever.  Sort of a "eff the mommy wars do what works for you" type message.

  • Making your own baby food is entirely reasonable. I got adorable glass canning jars the other day too. Way too early, but they were on sale. And it's cheaper than the crap in the store. And I plan to make a ring sling. Cringe.

  • Ya, I was another one who kept thinking "this one is me" until I read the next: extended BFing, cloth diapers, bed sharing, amber necklace ... The list goes on!
