Trains, Robots, Monsters, Or Race Cars?

I am trying to come up with a theme for Ben's first birthday party. Since he can't tell me what he wants yet, I am trying to figure this out myself. DH is absolutely NO help, he just says "Whatever you pick is fine with me." GAH! Help me ladies, Pinterest has too many ideas I love, and I can't pick!

    He doesn't really have any specific favorites, honestly...Unless his muslin blankies count! I also toyed with a Valentine's Day theme since he was born the day before, but none of it struck a chord with me. 

    I am VERY wary of Pinterest, LOL! I know I can't do half the stuff on there, it's more for inspiration and guidelines than exact step by step directions. Thanks for the warning, I appreciate it! :)

    You could also do a color theme instead. Like different shades of red and maybe some blue also to mix it up. If you wanted to go in the direction of Valentine's Day you could do something like, "Our SWEET guy is turning 1!". You could have a candy bar and make it candy themed with bright colors. That would be cute. 

    Ooh, I like that, too! I think I may be a little too indecisive, lol!

    DS was born on Valentine's Day, we did a monsters theme for his 1st birthday. I toyed with trying to "theme" it for Valentine's Day too, but ended up not. That's just me :) Let me see if I can dig up some pics and post them.

    I picked train, that is what we are doing and I have found some super cute stuff. We are also doing his 1 year photo shoot on an old freight train that has weekend runs around here so it will be in keeping with the theme. But, any of them will be cute!
    Me: 37 DH: 40 TTC since 9/09
    #1 BFP 1/10/11; missed m/c discovered 7w5d
    IF Dx: Endo, hetero MTHFR mutation, poor morphology
    #1 IUI: 1/18/12 = BFN
    #1 IVF/ICSI 4/2/12 = 2 x 7-cell and 1 x 5-cell transferred (3dt) = BFP!!
    H was born at 41w2d on 12/29/12 - be still my heart!
    #2 IVF/ICSI 1/19/14 = 2 x 8 cells transferred (3dt) = BFP!! EDD 10/09/14
    M&W born at 37 weeks on 9/18/14 - I am the momma of 3 boys!!!

    I picked robots bc it is somewhat unique compared to the others but I love the candy theme. And you can so more rainbow/primary colors to make it boyish.

    @ksyknelvr73, I love your PIPs of your LO's monster party! 

    DH loved trains growing up, and seemed to be most excited about that theme, but I am going to run the candy one past him, too. A spin on your typical "Valentine's Day" theme, which totally works, because I call B my sweet boy all the time!

    @mrsjessicamitchell - I am trying to incorporate St. Patrick's Day with Alexandra's birthday since it is the day before and I call her my lucky charm. So I will be looking for inspiration soon. Love the candy idea and think it will be fun!
