Anyone take Zofran?

OB is calling in a prescription for Zofran, which, if it works, will be a godsend. I feel like such a wuss for resorting to meds although I took OTC anti-nausea meds for LO #1. Regardless, I know I'm not eating/drinking enough or keeping down enough of what I'm consuming. So I guess meds it is.

Anyone take or have taken Zofran? Problems, concerns, loved it?

I am nervous and would love to hear from others who have taken Zofran. All of my IRL friends either (a) had no MS or (b) were able to control with crackers & ginger ale.

I took Promethazine which is similar to Zofran. I never had issues with constipation but one of the side effects was drowsiness. I found it great at night when I was having a hard time sleeping due to the nausea.

Prometazine has a lot of uses:

"Promethazine is used to relieve the symptoms of allergic reactions such as allergic rhinitis (runny nose and watery eyes caused by allergy to pollen, mold or dust), allergic conjunctivitis (red, watery eyes caused by allergies), allergic skin reactions, and allergic reactions to blood or plasma products. Promethazine is used with other medications to treat anaphylaxis (sudden, severe allergic reactions) and the symptoms of the common cold such as sneezing, cough, and runny nose. Promethazine is also used to relax and sedate patients before and after surgery, during labor, and at other times. Promethazine is also used to prevent and control nausea and vomiting that may occur after surgery, and with other medications to help relieve pain after surgery. Promethazine is also used to prevent and treat motion sickness. Promethazine helps control symptoms, but will not treat the cause of the symptoms or speed recovery. Promethazine is in a class of medications called phenothiazines. It works by blocking the action of a certain natural substance in the body."

I take 1/2 of a unisom (doxylamine succinate) and 1 vitamin b6 before bed. Then take zofran anytime I get nausea / vomiting. It took me a week of being sick to finally find out what works for me. My MS was not this bad during my last pregnancy. This is just awful.

@singingirl96 I took the unisom/B-6 combination with last pregnancy and it worked like a charm. Tried it this past weekend as was non-functional until 3 pm the next day - did not have that problem with LO #1. Like you, my MS is way worse with pregnancy #2 - hoping it doesn't last the whole 9-months (did for LO #1).

@GreenMonkey1 - When I took it the unisom/b6 combo in the morning, it didn't work for me at all. And I took it a few more times and nothing only zofran would work. I was taking 3 zofrans per day! But just a week later, things have subsided a bit and now if I take the combo at night, I'm down to 1 zofran a day. So keep trying and you may find out what works for you. I'm 8 weeks today and I'm feeling way better than when this MS started at 6 weeks.

I took Zofran because I was constantly nauseated, but never sick. There were times when I begged my body to just throw up already. The Zofran helped A LOT. I was also constipated, so I increased my stool softeners to 2 and didn't have an issue.

I had Zofran from weeks 13-37 with DS and since week 7 with this pregnancy, like @stokedwifey, this pregnancy is just constant nausea. I need miralax to combat the constipation.
