Another ladybits grooming question...

So, I've been seriously considering waxing my bits, since I haven't seen them in about 5 months and blind shaving is getting old, but I've never had anything waxed except my eyebrows and upper lip. Therefore, I have some questions:

1. How long to you have to let it grow before you wax? Just enough to get some stubble for grip, or should I be able to, like, braid it?

2. How much do you guys normally pay, and where do you go? I usually just go to the Asian ladies in the mall (please don't flame me, they really are all Asian ladies), but should I go to a regular salon for better vag care?

3. What is the exact terminology? I mean, I hear Brazilian, but I don't know if that's full vag, or full vag plus crack, or what? I may need a little butt crack care too - I'm Italian, don't judge.

4. Am I gonna cry?

I think I need my woman card revoked. I am seriously clueless.

    1) about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long.  You don't want it to be a 1970s bush, but stubble isn't long enough to grip.

    2) I go to an Asian lady salon for my eyebrows, but I feel more comfortable at a regular salon for my hooha.  You'd know where you'd feel most comfortable.  I pay $45 per wax in a small city in TX.

    3) Brazilian is full hooha plus butt crack.  Full Bikini skips the butt crack. 

    4) Probably yes the first time.  I've been going for 11 years now and the hair doesn't even grow in many places down there, and it barely hurts.  So suck it up and stick with it, it's SO worth it!

    When you first start to go, about every 4 weeks.

    I now go every 8 weeks (again, after 11 years).

    I was just wondering many of the same things yesterday as I did a very half assed job self grooming.  Then DH said, "who cares, just try natural until you feel up to taking care of it again."  
    I appreciate everyone's answers.

    I will have one done right before my c/s.  I usually do the full bikini.  I made the mistake of doing the brazillian once... OMG.  Let's just say that if they can't get a good angle, they make you get on all fours.  No way am I getting it done in a mall.  I go to a spa and then I also schedule myself a massage or facial right afterwards to reward myself.  It usually lasts at least a month for me which is perfect after a c/s so I don't have to deal with it at all.  Actually, I hated the hard wax.  It seemed to take way longer and was more painful even though everyone swears its supposed to be less painful.

    What you'll pay totally depends on where you live and what sort of establishment you go to. I actually go to a place that does sugaring instead of waxing - same thing only with this awesome sticky sugar stuff instead of hot wax. I recommend. Highly. Haven't been since I was put on pelvic rest ten weeks ago, but I normally go every 4-5 weeks, it takes maybe 20 min, a Brazilian does include crack, and I hope to be going again soon when the docs clear me for sexy time. ;D

    Find a reputable esthetician in a private salon. It's not super important to say you want a Brazzilian or Bikini, but just tell them the area you want waxed. I prefer the hard wax, it's easier to get in all those folds and crevices. I'd say go now, so you have an idea of what to expect & you have time to follow up & know what regrowth will be like.

    I agree with PP. let it grow in for a little while; if it's too short, it won't come out and it hurts. I think some parts of the wax sting but it goes away pretty quickly. I always get (got? haven't had one in a few months) a Brazilian and the area will be sore for a day or two but nothing at all that you can't handle. it lasts for 3-4 weeks and is amazing! I always went to a salon and got the hard wax - no strips!! they kill!! I spent around $45-50 without the tip. totally worth it

    I just have to say that I live in OK which generally is lower cost of living etc. I am so jealous you guys can get your wax so cheap! Here it is $75 plus tip anywhere I know of that is trustworthy. I would get it done regularly if it were 20 bucks cheaper but it's so expensive!

    I thought my legs were by far the most painful while my underarms didn't hurt at all. I only got my legs done once... oh the pain. ::shudder::

    Red door spa is amazing if you live near one. I actually don't think it hurts as bad as it looks on tv

    I don't know the length. I go every 4 weeks. If you've never waxed before, let it grow for about 2-3 weeks before getting waxed.

    I go to European Wax Center. It's about $50

    Brazilian is everything including crack. To be honest, your tush doesn't hurt at all.

    Your first time is very painful. I will warn you that it might be more painful now that you're pregnant and your skin is more sensitive. But you just have to get through your first wax and it's not as bad after.
