Complete Exhaustion at 22ish weeks

Is this relatively normal?  I feel like out of nowhere I've been hit by a truck.  What ever happened to the "2nd tri is the best you'll ever feel" period?  This is by far worse than what I felt during the first tri.

And honestly... it's not going to get better from here, is it?  :)

Our baby boy,Logan, was born still at 19w3d on 7/1/2011
Our 2nd baby boy, Mason, was born still at 20w3d on 1/31/2012

After a much needed sanity break... we are praying for our rainbows

((BFP 7/29/13))  ((EDD 4/12/14))  It's BOY/GIRL twins!!!

Re: Complete Exhaustion at 22ish weeks

  • I was puking my whole 2nd tri... so I never got that nice you feel great part.  Maybe the last like 2 weeks when the nausea finally started to dissipate...lol.

Exhaustion comes and goes.  Just the nature of the beast.

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!

  • I have way more energy now than I did in my first tri (which was sleep every opportunity for me) but I'm still pretty exhausted. I can sometimes muster half the e energy I use to have. I feel pathetic about it but logically I know it's normal.

  • I seem to recall my 2nd tri energy burst lasting from 14-18 weeks. After that I was dragging like woah....and MIL would tell me I was "supposed" to be all energetic.
8-|  Twin pregnancies are different. You are not alone.

  • I agree that this is good to hear. I am almost 21 weeks and really starting to slow down. I just can't do the things I could do (even with the extreme sickness in my 1st tri). It's just a different kind of hard!

  • I had fatigue the entire pregnancy except for maybe two weeks. it is one of the "main pregnancy symptoms" they warn you about... like swollen/painful boobs, morning sickness, nausea, back pain...

  • Ha! Was JUST having this conversation with a friend who is now 22 weeks with twins. I'm now 26 weeks, and I too felt a very sudden hitting the wall at 22 weeks! I feared it was the beginning of the end. But, this week I'm back to being full energy (even though I have a cold!) and feeling great. A HUGE thing that helped me feel better was starting to wear the Upsie Belly (by Belly Bandit)...doesn't help with being tired, but has made an incredible difference in how much I can do physically. In the store it sells for $80 (Australia), but scored it on Target online for only $32!! Best $32 I've spent this pregnancy!

Hang in there! The fatigue comes and goes...I get really tired when the babies are obviously growing (I get a super itchy belly then too)...once they finish their growth spurt I go back to normal (for twin pregnancy that is!) energy. Rest now, but know it will probably ease up soon :)
